Drive Shaft Problems PLZ HELP

i just did a auto to 5 speed swap on my 90 240sx. i used a 1995 transmission with a 90 manual drive shaft, we started the car, with the back and the front jacked up. we put it in gear to see if the wheels turned and they did, but in a few seconds we noticed smoke. at the end of the drive shaft where it goes into the transmission, few of the bolt on the driveshaft are rubbing on the transmission tail, and the black plastic part was burning. my questions areWhat should i double check?is there something wrong with the driveshaft/transmission combo?

plz any input would be nice, this is the only thing keeping me from driving my car

if you have a pic of which bolts are touching that would help, it sounds like somthing wasn't put back together right, or you didnt use the right driveshaft because it is rubbing.

hmm i'll try and get some pictures later. It's a ka24E and i used a 95 Ka24de transmission with a ka24E manual shaft from a 1990 also. only a few of the bolts rub. maybe 2 or 3 of them

ooh...when i got my 96 engine installed into my 93, i couldnt use the 96 transmission. the mechanic said the transmission was too big, and he couldn't put it in. i think the s14 trannys are longer than s13...

^i don't think so. they do have diferent shields in the rear of the transmission's tho, my brother had to take his off

maybe the shield was what he was talking about. i dunno. that sounds like a good solution to me. if its in the way, cut it off! just look @ my sig. (i want to targa top my 240) good luck with your transmission!
