I have a 2002 Nissan Frontier, 4 cyl. auto 2-wheel drive. Between 35-40 mph the truck feels like all of the tires are out of round but they are fine ( had them all checked for any defects and had them rebalanced ). U Joints are also good. Could the drive shaft be causing this or is there a constant velosity joint in the the drive line that could be defective ? Please help !!

I would guess that you have a bad u-joint. My 96 HB does the same thing.

Uneven air pressure in the tires won't help, either.

If they balanced and really checked for bent wheels or messed up tires instead of just slapping weights on, a u-joint would be suspect. I would also check the front end suspension like tie rods and sway bars links. Also if the weight fell off the driveshaft or you bent the shaft unexpectedly going over something would cause a bad vibration. Both are highly unlikely, but not inpossible.

what kind of tires? how bad is the vibration? are you sure its all four?

my guess is unbalanced tires. depending on what kind you have, the fact of the matter is that some tires are just not balance-able on certain machinery. now... granted it might not be tires or wheels and actually in the drive line. in that case, i'd also bet a bad u joint. BE SURE it isn't. because if its not, its most likely an unbalanced drive shaft which is annoying to say the least.
