Has anyone drilled into the trunk? I want to make secure brackets in the floor for a sub. I plan on putting it on the drivers side, a couple inches from the back seat. I checked the specs and it shows the gas tank is under the rear seat. How far does it extend into the trunk area if it does? Am I safe to drill here, anything I should be aware of?

Tough call... you might be able to see if you go underneath the car, or maybe if you look through the factory service manual, you can find an image of the components to give you an idea.

I did look in the fs manual before I posted...that's what I meant by specs...that's how I figured the tank was under the seat. The problem is the way they drew it, it's tough to determine how much further into the trunk it extends. I guess the only way to really know is to look under the car.

I really don't trust the velcro method.

There might be a cover in the body somewhere that you can unbolt and have a look at the top of the fuel tank. Nissan usually puts them in so you can service the fuel pump without having to drop the tank.
