I finally got my car to a local track called Beaver Run and I did some drifting. Heres a picture of my car down there, it ran pretty good. http://farm4.static.flickr.com...b.jpg

Anyways my question is, how do all you drifters deal with the heat generated with beating your car? When I ran the autocross track like i was supposed to my car didn't over heat at all, but when I was drifting the track my car overheated EVERY run. I tried running my interior heater on full blast, and taking my hood off, but it still overheated. If i get a 3 inch aluminum radiator and two pusher fans, and hook my winshield washers spayers to squirt at my intercooler will I be good to go. Thanks in advance.

ahh one of the constants in long slide high speed drifting. overheating...

BIG radiator, water wetter, making sure everything is sealed as best as possible (so air cant escape around the radiator).

you can only do so much. its probably always going to run hot.

if you have not already.. removing all the plastic around the wheel well will help.

it took me about 6-7 runs before my bottom radiator hose became firm.. which means yea you are pretty damn hot.

as mentioned by all the others.. bigger rad etc etc. i was pushing a stock s14 radiator with electric fan. as i got faster on the track i was seeing that this setup was not going to cut it.. i left for japan sortly after so i didnt change it.

good luck

mishimoto rad, mishimoto dual 14 inch fans, and hire a water boy to spray u down every couple laps.

and if ur really scared of overheating, get a buddy club water temp sensor gauge so u can monitor ur temps.

Sorry for the threadjack, but what kind of pink is that? my gf has a coupe and was thinking about pink somehwere, and i think that looks pretty good.

Also goodluck with the overheating problem. I know when i went to the track it took about 4 runs almost right after another, but when i did over heat, man my coolant was boiling... hahaha.

Thanks for the suggestion on the mishimoto radiator and fans, i think i might get theirs, I've always wanted their black front mount, are they any good?

Its actually just spray paint with clearcoat on it, i just felt like doing something different, but its the bright pink that walmart has in the spray cans.
