The lack of drift racing in this state sucks!! Or am I looking in the wrong places? Please tell me where I can hook up with some drift enthusiasts here in the valley of the sun, Phoenix, AZ. I have a red S-13 coupe, and am looking to find some action!! Please help!!

we have nearly monthly events at all the big racetracks!

http://www.az240sx.org thats the local board, tons of info and people there.

one comming up in 2 weeks at firebird, 200$ for both days, saturday grip/school and sunday full drifting. youll probably see 3+ hours of actual on track racing. 2 weeks after that at PIR as a season ender because of summer.

Thanx for the info, but why does it stop in the summer? Doesn't hot roads get better traction?

uh it kills your car

110 degrees + racetrack = blown engines

True, but I've never had a problem. But then I've never raced in the day time.

you have obviously never grip raced outside of a video game. grip and drifting are not opposite, they work together.

Yup. Drift is all about traction. I imagine if you want to drift at higher and higher speeds the more traction the better as well, for stability.

yea...but what she said...hotter temps of the track...which means the tires get stickier, which means...it is harder to break traction... thats what i meant that it shouldnt mix...i dont know, hard to get my point across what im trying to say...i know its all about breaking traction and being able to regain traction without spinning out and look baddass while doing it lol

bah, you all aren't looking hard enough, theres tons of us here! Not all of us are as heavy into drifting as the rest (for some ppl thats due to lack of finances ) but we're here, hot and heavy. We have meets on the westside of PHX every 3 weeks on UTI end of phases. One is coming up next Friday... you should stop by. Info on it will be up this week
