Welcome aboard Yeah, the drift bible has some good info about learning the main approaches to drifting. Find a safe place devoid of objects you can hit and work with the ebrake, power oversteer, and clutch slipping to get a feel for sliding and how the car behaves. There are plenty of ways to get into it but practice on your part is the key ingredient imho. Also look for drift events in your area and check them out as soon as you want to/have basics down.

thats not always true, if you ride with a very skilled person they will do so many things at once you will have no idea whats going on. if you ask a pro to ride with YOU while you are learning thats the best.

dont really worry about what the drivers look like, just their cars.

im the guy that went to TAS and bitched about girls standing infront of the cars.

he was super cool though, i chatted with him and alex pfeiffer quite a bit and both were really cool, ended up buying some stuff off alex and getting an old school alignment from him.

Not only is the drift bible nonsense, it is garbage.Sure it may go over techniques and such, But you can't get better by watching someone elseNor can you get better by reading what someone says about it.

What you need to do is saddle up,ride the pony, and figure out what works best for you.

New to drifting is not such a bad thing, if you already know how to drive you will pick it up very fast. Drift relys heavily on Grip principles, Weight transfer, line and knowing the limits of what you are driving are the most important things you need, they are just applied a little different for drift. Just learn to induce and sustain oversteer and get alot more familiar with counter and your set. So basiclly if your totally new to driving period get as much grip driving as you can inbetween drift events, in a safe enviroment of course.
