I have a sentra SER Tstat in my car. I think its 180*? I forget but the point is it works perfectly and fit perfectly as well.

Oh nvmd you guys are talking about the Tstat housing. Yeah I think it goes in a different direction. How did you brake it?

Diff direction as well as too short, the DET one extends farther. I tightened the bolt too tight, silly aluminum. I JB welded it until I can finda replacement, we'll see if it holds ttoday.

So...I tried starting my car today-fixed the vacuum lines, filled with oil, and fixed the tstat housing temporarily. She doesnt turn over though, I played with it for a while and realized it has something to do with my starter, and I think I justt need a ground.

I would have kept working but the mosquitoes were gettin hella annoying and I have a date tonight lol

Your ignition relay is clicking and working, but I assume the starter isn't getting enough voltage. How many grounds do you have from the actual body to the motor? Try using like 2 or 3 4gage wires.

If your battery is relocated your wiring might be wimpy on the 'hot' or power side too and not have enough voltage from when it traverses the car to the starter.

great idea, but i'd do more grounds then that. i'm not using any of the factory motor grounds and i think i'm going with 5 or so 4 ga grounds total

So the starter works and I was able to get it grounded and get power etc but now I have anotther issue...

My battery is giving the car a constant flow of power so it dies after a day or 2, so I hooked up my portable battery charger to quick start and the starter starts turning for a few seconds by itself! Then it kills tthe charger for a few minutes until it does the same thing again.

So I have a constant flow of power to the car itself as well as the starter-which makes me tthink I have a bad relay and I dont know what to check for...any help?

Holy s**t dude! Its been so long since I haven't been around. Damn your car is ready to go by the looks of it except for your new issue with the starter.

I was just going through your pages and caught that pic of your SR sitting in the engine bay. Looks nice bro, can't wait for mine. Im almost done too, who knows we might just bump into each other some day.

Does anyone know what the small male end coming off of the starter near the power/ground terminals is for?

You're talking about the flat thing w/ a hole in it? It's what the starter signal wire plugs into.

I plugged in the starter signal wire, turned her over..and blew a fuse! Work til 4 so itll have to wait til after that, then we will try again. I think Im drawing too much power and I need more grounds, updates coming I promise.

Me too, this isnt a teaser. I just put it on for the pic because I dont have all the hardware to permanently install it all and my hood still hits my valve cover. The paint up close came out like s***, and you can see where the fenders fell and scratched the paint even though I touched it up. Whatever it looks good from 15ft

Ugh. Im so aggravated with this project, tried starting it and blew my 150a fuse from the battery! Maybe it was because I didnt have enough grounds, or I was missing fuses, idk I just got new fuses in the mail today so well try again tomorrow night.

Annoyed with this car...maybe Ill sell it, maybe not. I want a clean coupe to swap everything into..I think Ill do that, first I have to move and find a coupe in LA. I like this idea more and more the more I think about it, We will see.

P.S. Im selling the Grand Prick, so if anyones interested.....

End of august, and yes Ive heard alot about the cops there lol

I am drawing too much power somewhere and Im thinking it is my starter since it only blows the 150A fuse when I try to crank it over, is it just a bad starter? I know you can swap the SR head off of the starter and put it on a SOHC one and it will work but will that solve my problem? Help is greatly appreciated...

Not ditching it, I just want a clean coupe and Ill drop all my stuff in there then sell the hatch shell. Things 1st time around were sloppy and I wasnt ready for alot, I know I can do better so I am going to do it with a clean slate.

I swapped the SR head with the KA one and the same problem exists, now I really dont know what to do, could it be a bad solenoid?
