I meant sandblasted not painted lol and I cant be held responsible for people who take 2 1/2 weeks to sandblast 5 peices of metal!

Im gonna try to get my wheels/tires in April so I can put the tires on, balance them, mount on the car, and align it all myself

brackets look nice, but imo they could have easily been cleaned up with a wire wheel and painted, and you'd have had them back sooner

Thanks yo, and Ill be dropping the engine as soon as I get my motor mounts and assemble it completely. Hook up the wiring and fire her up I order another slew of parts next week so hopefully in the next couple weeks [weather permitting] Ill have her running!

Some what of an update here, didnt have much to do much since I went out last night and I got a little stumped with my alternator but no worries more coming tomorrow

Brackets primeredPAINTED!

I have a question about the 2 straight peices on the right farther down..thanks to a tip from positron..Oh no! no pulley! Old vs. NewNew one on!Motor mount...mount?Alternator Bracket mounted & water pump pulley as well, easy install

On with the questions..which way does this RAD hoses face? The new on [on bottom] has an "F" on one side and the old one has an"R" that goes towards the radiator--does F mean front of engine? and R radiator?

The two brackets on the righttOne of them goes near the front of the block just under the intake mani ports--but is it the long one or short one??

Got any ideas..? Anyone? lol

Figured out the short one goes between the intake mani and the block right near the throttle body. Still not sure about the longer bracket or the radiator hoses

I think it is to hold intake manifold to the block or something.

Take these in red and toss them, they arent needed and get in the way.

I know where they go but seriously not even needed.

Yea your right they do hold the intake mani to the block one of them (the small one) goes with the alternator to the mani then the bigest one goes in the middle and then the last one goes in the back from the block to the mani. once you have the block and intake mani and alternator on you will fint their location trust me...

the brackets hold the intake manifold up. the smaller, skinnier one goes up front on the alternator bracket. the other one goes farther back near the motor mount. i wouldn't ditch them since they support the manifold

Not really, I havent had mine on and I have pulled the engine and put it back in several times by the intake and exhaust manifold without them, proving that you dont need them if it call hold the weight of the engine. Its kinda like people taking off the ka guides, they dont do anything but get in the way and make noise. If you leave them off, getting a stuck oil filter will be 100000x easier, plus its suprising how much room they take up, ur call though.

i've seen plenty of people not run them, i'm just not convinced of how it'll hold up over the long run. i left mine on, but i don't think oil filters will be a problem of me

What do you guys think? The only thing that worries me is " Fan connector might need to manually Adjusted. " I have no idea what that means

Well Sr's never had electric fans so there is no where to just plog them in...I got the flexalite fans and just bought this http://www.frsport.com/DIF-Uni....htmlAnd you conect it to the coolent temp sensor and your done, and it also has a wire that you hook up a switch in the car so you can turn the fans on when ever you just want the motor to cool down all the way (good between reces or so). I have one payed the same $ 124 and its worth every penny. At first I just had the switch and would have to keep my eye on the temp geage to see when the fans needed to be turned on let me tell you it sucked!!!

Hey man nice build. You will probably benefit from my build thread in the sig. As stated, you don't need those brackets for the intake, WC's just a cautious nub! Weight savings ftw. The hose coming off the bottom of your TB is the coolant hose, there are 2 of them. Don't bother hooking them up, they'll warm up your intake charge. This is only good for warming the motor up marginally faster, and spoils what your intercooler is for!

Also, don't hook up the coolant lines to the IACV/idler as this will do the same and is pointless as to the running of the car. Cooling temp sensor tells the ecu what the temp is nothing else.

I went over what I did for my cooling lines in the sig also.

In terms of vacuum, the big tube w/ the screw in it is for your BOV. The smaller vacuum probe is for the FPR. The tiny 90 degree bent vacuum probe on the bottom of the TB is for the charcoal canister and is not needed, plug it. Do not hook up a boost gage or FPR on this nipple as it does not read vacuum when the TB is closed. You might note why, it leads to a hole that ends up before the throttle plate. This hole is only good for maybe an HHO intake setup, as it only works when throttle is depressed.

Should get u started. Good luck building and prepping a motor is one of my favorite things to do!

Didderson, I have read through your build probably..around 10x lolI love your build & it made me sad to see it end, I felt like my build was similar to yours more than the others Ive seen.

Thanks for the advice! So should I just yank those hoses off? Do I need to cap it with something?

Aw that actually kinda warmed my heart LOL. Yes it is a sad ending, shoulda been more careful. I can't shake the car bug my sentra is getting a 5spd swap and rust fix soon.

The TB coolant lines you don't need to cap off, I cut the metal hose protrusions for weight savings that's how obsessed I am.

For the turbo cooling line I'm sure you've seen that I ran a hose from the IACV high pressure to the turbo since I cut the bit of pipe off. The other one from the IACV I had to cap off, and the best way I thought was to crimp it and additionally clamp a hose to it, then the other end of the hose was a screw inside of it clamped yet again.

The vacuum lines, you only need to cap the small one underneath the tb. Due to pressurization the cap may actually blow off at some point so you might want to put a dab of glue in the metal hose before u cap it so the cap doesn't blow off. I went thru about 3 caps until glueing. Reason being is it's a spot for boost leak under boost, and vacuum leak under vacuum.

FPR and BOV should always have priority. BOV gets its own line, and the fpr line should be on the in line part of the T if you T it off for boost gauges and such.

The large one coming from the iacv goes to the big IC piping barb, but I think you knew that.
