tthanks white cometi was able to finagle that sucker out today, and take apart the cluster [speedo/tach] and it seems pretty simple, i think i might roll back my odometer to 0, write down the chassis miles & guesstimate the miles on my SR and keep track that way--i think it be kinda cool to drive w/ the odo @ 0 lol

not much of an update i know, its slow because all my money right now is goin towards my motor. but im cleanin out my garage to make room for all my $hit, and my friend is buyin my "racing seats" for $40 so thas money in the bank!

sounds good. i guess its a good thing you are holding on the swap that, way you won't cut any corners and do things right.

im the same way as you. my ka gave out and i immediately bough an sr not realizing there would be much more than just the swap. soon i found out suspension was shot, some rust here and there around the engine bay. i have spent over 10,000.00 in the car now and its still doesn't even have the engine in place.i learned from my mistakes, don't do the same.

haha yea that was a while ago though, i now have complete new suspension but still need to take care of the rust. i even got z32 front calipers, (they look soooo hot) the only problem is that i'm currently unemployed and i dont have money. i also need to take my sr's head to the machine shop, so thats basically whats holding me back. i cant find a freaken' job!!

talking about free mods, i think im going to remove the clutch dampener tomorrow and hopefully install the rear struts.

yea does man im desperate to find a job got a couple interviews but no word yet. i am currently 20. i live in the south side i guess, a few minutes from downtown if that helps. its called PILSEN community.

i'm sure i dont need the z32 calipers just yet either but why not, i got a really good deal on them.

my plans are, well, kinda big. i want to get my sr to the 400whp mark. for now i am leaving everything in the block, head internals pretty much stock, i just want to check what condition the head is in and do some minor work if needed. i do however got a bunch of aftermarket stuff to help it out a little.... below

greddy FMICgreddy intake manifoldgreddy rs bovapexi powerflow intakeapexi n1 exhaustapexi gt downpipepeak performance exhaust manifold with oem turbotomei dump pipewalbro fuel pumpMR lightweight pulley setfidanza lightweight flyweelspec clutch st. 2+mitshimoto rad. (not engine related but yea)

along with much more stuff not engine related, im expecting somewhere in the 240-270whp mark, far from my goal. but i will get there eventually with turbo upgrade etc.

ebay IC should be ok i have the greddy coldpipe for the sr if you're interested. its brand new i dont need it because i have the greddy intake manifold and its a different pipe.

BUMP for my threadno lovin for my thread lately huh?continued takin stuff off the intake side today, got the manifold off as well as some other little parts...are any one elses heater hoses melted on? i mean it kinda makes sense since there is hot coolant runnin through but stilland my thermostat housing as well as a couple other solid parts in which coolant flows through are glued on and i CANT get them off-i know its supposed to be held on and sealed but holy shizz!

hopefully get some more work done tomorrow-finish the intake side & clean it to be prepared for paint! will post pics when i finish

P.S. keep in mind this is my first build so im takin it slow and being as organized as i can with everything!

i will prolly get the gasket set but other than that you pretty much hit the nail on the head with that one lol i might keep the side mount for a while to get her running then switch to a front mount over the summerplus a boost controller [avc-r or profec B] and a clutch [exedy stage 1] and thatll pretty much cover my engine modsthen i will focus on my suspension
