try to address the rust first.

how bad is it and wheres it worst?

and also. What do you want to do with the car?Daily?Drift?Auto-x?Mountain?

All- round beast?

this should be one of the first questions you ask yourself when your starting a build.this way you can layout a parts list and build to suit your needs.

A Gengar!? That's ***king awesome! After months of racking my brain for something cool/funny to hang from my towhook, I realize that I have a perfectly good Charizard I could throw back there! Welcome to NICO!

Oh, and nice 240 btw. Keep it Zenki.

Honestly, besides possibly stupid amounts of power and the type of diff being used, what else is there that makes the set up's so different?

suspension set ups.

auto-x guys... not so low, konis and some GC sleeves or RSR race springs.. done!

drift guys... PBMax coilovers or any other stupidly stiff japanese coilover with a 12/10 to 10/8 kg set up or something similar... possibly dual height adjustment for the extra ridiculously lowness that everyone think looks cool.

daily to spirited street drivers... any japanese coilover with a subtle / comfortable spring rate... 9/7 or less... (my personal street coilover spring rate choice is 7/5 kg)

drag racers... super soft spring rates... either softer than stock rates, or just rock stock springs

honestly, I think you should just start out with the basics.... rock with what you got.

First and Foremost... fix whatever needs to be fixed. I'm talking about worn/ shot bushings, bad wheel bearings, rust, etc.

Second: suspension choices. Get coilovers. end discussion. I mean, you've already stated that you want a cool car? coilovers are a start. ALso, while you're at it, get some accommodating adjustable suspension arms (rucas, toe rods, tie rods, tension control, etc), and maybe beef up your rear subframe a little with some collars or something.

third: wheels. Aim for low offsets. WHen you get to this stage in life, deciding whether to go 5 lug is like deciding on getting a tatoo. Can you still look cool without going 5 lug... or are your 4-lug options soo limited that you must convert.

let me use E7-S14's old car as an example of the potential your car has...

slammed, simple, yet stunning...

he even kept it 4 lug.

what I'm trying to say, is once you have your basics... you should start the planning afterward (engine builds, uber jdm aeros, big brakes etc). After I'd get my car to look like E7-S14's red car... I'd start planning on what to do for looks or for power.

and yes as everyone is saying.. coilovers!.. i have no clue which to get.. lookin at stance and tein.. want a good set for drift and racing. i don't like the crazy lowness .. but i like having the front dropped lower than the rear.. love the look of that.. so any suggestions on which??

lowering your car unevenly will alter your steering geometry. just something to look out for. i personally wouldnt recommend it.

I have Apex'i N1 type ExV coils on my car and love them even for daily duties. I am riding on some sportmaxx (now XXR) 17"s that are boat anchors. stay away. However their Watanabe knocks are fairly light and not bad looking imo. I would suggest the 002 model, 16x8 with a 0 offset if you are looking for new 4lugs with a decent offset on the cheap. If you want to spend $1K+, go with Work wheels or something of that nature. Remember that the larger diameter your wheel, the more power itll take to spin it (ie drifting), but larger diameters also allow you larger brakes, which you will probably need anyway in order to stop as well or better than you did on the stockers...

eh im babbling. the important thing is to make sure that no maintenance is needed before you go modding things. Sleek and simple is usually the best aesthetic direction. Dont sacrifice performance for "wheel fitment". if you drop the car with coils, please make sure you complement them with control arms to get your alignment right.

not sure what else to spout my opinion on atm.

So guysim sure many of u thought this wouldnt end up happening since i sorta disappeared...well im back!that winter i went through a challenging time.. so the car wasnt important...

ANYWAYS

time to get to the important stuff.. alot has changed. car looks NOTHING like wat it was..ALOT of new plans, changes, wat not...

Been to two different shows with it alreadyand this winter shes getting a new heart...and another car...which is a secret is also is getting a slight build that will be posted up when it comes.. for now ill post a picture which hopefully wont give alot away, and might make u a lil wet. LOL

More pics to come today or tmrw

So! i scrolled up to see where i last left you guys, and looks like.. a long time ago.. ahahaso pics now since i found out my morning lecture was cancelled.. and im sitting in the stupid lecture hall. so after that last picture ..last winter i moved her in the center of the garage and fully put her up

Ripped off the dirty rotors and calipers

The rotors before machining them

New Calipers i picked up, they were very cheap, mint. and larger! S13 ABS calipers, which is the same as S14 ABS, but i had non ABS ones before$50

Calipers blasted and thrown on for no reason lol

I also got a nice pair of Rear JDM S14 calipers, no pics though... they were very mint. $100

Finished painting, and rotors nice and machined. Free

after all the calipers, and rotors were replaced..she got some subs, and a neon in the trunk.. UGH... ricer...

I quickly learned that drifting and sub boxes dont mix.. and all that crap was removed.

Late Spring of 09:

Searching the local forums, looking for some wheels.. i came aross these bad boys.:my buddy was selling the wheels on his beautiful r32!!the llama told me to buy them!so after much discussion, my brother-in-law ended up giving me a VERY nice present for my bday. ahahaha

These are Kei Office Rims..thats right. DRIFT KING. Size:17x8 +35 5x114.3 with Sonars 215/45/R17 %90 tread17x9 +38 5x114.3 with Nexans 235/40/ZR17 %90 tread.Price tag: $450Money out of my pocket? $0 :D

So after picking up the i need 5lug conversion!

Picked up 2 front 5lugs for 40$, one had a bad bearing..sad face.Than picked up the 2 rears.. $150.. but got screwed. and the HUB was bad..not the bearing..So i found a set of S14 JDM calipers, with knuckles, arms, TC rods, Hub, Rotors, Pads.. picked those up, took one 5lug hub, sold the rest and went on with the conversion. The rear hub i just ordered from nissan, $150

In the end, i spend 320$ on my 5lug. and another some amount for Brand New 5lug rotors, which i forgot how much it was..

So yah we had to remove the hubs from the knuckles.. that was a challenge, the bolt was so f***ing tight.. so we figured out a way to get them off.

i got no pics of the actual install of them.. but w.e

The guy there with the hammer, just recently opened his parts company.. M's Motoring

So I threw on a bunch of decals for support, since he gets most of my parts, at a VERY good price! let me know if u need anything.

and after we threw on the rims and 5lug was finished that night we took a picture.. sorry for the quality

Also that night! i stopped at his house.. turned off the car.. and she wouldnt turn back on...had to leave her at my friends place.. 1 hour away.. at 3AM.. he drove me back home.. than he figured out that it was my starter!! thats just wonderful eh?that week i planned to go to his place and repair it..

...**RANDOM SIDE STORY AHEAD!**THAT NIGHT. i swear.. my worst week ever...lets go back 1 day... i was home alone for 2 weeks, while my rents were in cali..i was chilling with the gf and we decided to instead of driving my parents new altima, to drive our old 99 crap of a corolla..since it had gas lolanyways i went to start it..(i havent driven it in a long time) and he wouldnt start..i asumed dead battery.. sounded like it.. so went to jump it..the gf was trying to start the corolla.. started once.. and died quickly.. i so got in there.. and when i started it and gave the gas hell, and let it idle.. when my gf says.. hey there alot of weird smoke coming from the exhaust*look back* :O blue smoke. shut her off..check the oil....... well there was no oil. FANTASTIC! lolanyways.. i left that POS there.. didnt care..that night.. i went to sleep at 3am.. planning to wake up at 5am to bet any traffic to my buddies place..wake up at 5.. i usually would loft.. but i heard LOUD running water..sounded like a bad storm... put my feet down on the floor.. it was wet:|ran to the upstairs washroom to find the SS line burst and the place was flooding.. shut off the valve there, and was freakin out.. went to the main level to check on it..it was raining in my kitchen i s*** u not. went to my finished basement.. and there was 2inches of water already.. it was rediculous.to cut this off topic story short.. my house was f***ed. most of it.. which delayed the repair of my car..now im living in a hotel, till construction of the repiars and upgreade to the house are finished.. that happened in mid july..**END RANDOM STORY**

so later picked up a starter for $40, and fixed it!

Now more pics of rims put on:

My first show was coming upDMCC Drift Mania in Toronto.

and my front end looked like crap to me. so wat did i buy?KOUKIIIIIII Purchased them all together, JDM Headlights, Grill, Hood, Fenders, Bumper, Signals, and Fogs. all in pearl white.. but the paint needs much repair.. $1200I ended up doing this swap in my buddies driveway LOLPictures anyone?Nicely layed out

Last view of the zenki...

Zenki GONE!

Kouki on! Well sorta.. temp Ziptied on.

Later that week i actually bolted it all together properly..

Also looking through the forums.. came across the exactly hood i wanted.Seibon TR-Style Carbon Hoodshe had damage.. the carbon was fine, the epoxy clear s*** had cracks and stuff... BUTcost of this hood.. $75 :DHere it is.:

I wasnt able to put it on right away, and my first show came up! 2day outdoor event. DMCCHere i am. that Saturday.

My parents came to visit me at this show.. my mom took the following pictures.. i had no idea about till later..

ahaha

Me and my other buddy, thats his S14 Zenki with Blacktop S13 SR and Tein Coilz

That night i decided to leave the show.. and go home to pick up my carbon hood and throw it on...

DSLR pictures:+ FAV picture to date.

Thats wat she looks like now.. but theres more that happened.. i will update soon.... *Hint* Second show was coming up...

Are you still planning on all that widebody stuff? If you are then you either need new wheels or about 3 inch spacers.

Looks good, lower it and work on suspension now.

Hope the SR swap goes well clean up the bay a lot when you do it, it looks like thats one of the only spots left on your car that dont look fresh.

(sorry only words for today)

So i have purchased the engine!!S14 SR with a nismo lightweight fly wheel and nismo clutch disc

My KA is going into... dun dun duuuuunnnn a S12!!!! (pics of that to come too)

The ka is ready to pull out of my car and most of the interior is out!seats, dash trim, DASH! all the AC crap and heater junk is being removed. and since i havent drained the AC fluid all i did was remove the air duct tubing, and the blower motor.

Ive also figured out a few little thing, stereo will be relocated to the glove box and most of the engine bay ill try to strip and relocate if possible.. i love the CLEAN look.

final exams are this week till the 15th.. so ill update it today or tmrw with pics up to like a few days ago..
