This is driving me crazy. I used to have one of these a while back on my old 240, but sold it w/ the car. Back then you could find that lil Spin Turn Knob for $0.99 and now they run for like 20 bux shipped. To me thats crazy, only b/c of how cheap they used to be. You dont know what you got till its gone. While drifting its just a lil extra help when you dont have to worry about holding down the button. AND YES, i use my e-brake to initiate some of my drifts.

So i was wondering if anyone knew where to find a cheap one now-a-dayz?

Also, I was just thinkin about making my own modification to my e-brake so i dont have to hold the button, which isn't hard at all. But, what else can I use to keep the button down? I dont wanna use just tape. I remember seeing some1 having what looked like a full size shift knob, down on their ebrake. Any1 see that b4? know where to get it?

I thought about that. But i was thinkin what will i do when parking? I guess just leave it in gear. But it will still roll a wayz, so that makes me nervous.

But thanx for the idea. Any others?

u got a point, but that thing is not worth that much! why pay so much for something that costs like couple of cents to make. i mean, i can make that in my CNC class for free, there is nothing to it. i would never spend 20 bucks on that. the most i would spend on would be like 5 (shipped).i say just tape it.

I held the button in and drilled through it with a 1/16th" bit. Now I just pick up tooth picks from resturants I go to and use them. The spring pressure holds them in and the best part is it still looks stock unless you really inspect it.

my friend used a quarter glued to his e-brake, he took the spring out of it, so it worked, and if he wanted it to stay up, then he just pulled the button up, its weird and I'm trying to do it to mine but I'm stumped on how to do it, but its cheap, costs a quarter haha

Yeah the only purpose of having the knob on there is so that you can grip the e brake button to pull it out after the spring has been disconected. A glued on quarter, bolt through the tip, whatever will work as well. To get out the spring, simply pull of the ebrake boot, and pull the tabs out on both sides untill they are flush with the handle metal. the spring will fall into the handle. Done.

im looking for the link

but i saw something the other day that sells for liek 200-300$ and it replaces your entire e-brake, its a lever system that ll you do is pull up no locking or anthing

"pure race" type system so they call it

Wow sounds like a rip off. Do you never want to park on a hill again? Why not just take the spring out of yours. Whala. No more locking. Why buy a whole new handle when you can just take out the damn spring?

i dont plan on buying it at all

hell i dont even plan to buy a spin knob if i cant find one cheap

ill just either A) Do as you mentioend and remove spring(its all a spin knob really does anyhow in a way) or B) keep my thumb on the button while i pull it

The knob does not do the same thing as removing the spring. When you get the knob, you must remove the spring. The only purpose of the knob(as I said earlier) is to be able to pull the button back out when you need to park.

the only reason why i dont wanna just glue a quarter to the button is cuz i'm afraid it would be too light/loose and when i pull it out, the button would pop up and get locked. They spin turn knob adds a tiny bit more so when its down, it feels secure and wont pop up during ebraking. the cheapest one i found was $11 shipped on ebay.
