I have a s13 hatch with tien s-techs and kyb gr2's. I was wondering what would be s a good size sway bar for the back and wether i should get one for the front as well? also are uper strut bars worth the $$$ or would some ebay specials do the same job?other specs on car are in my sig.

sway bars arent all that nescssary in the beginnig stages, what u have is fine for now. but a rear hicas bar might he just be a reasonablly priced upgrade, unless u what a serous upgrade then u can get Lagus swaybars

Grip Gambler i assume your talking about a Hicas rear sway bar. Are they noticably thicker than my stock LE bar? The reason i say i want a sway bar is becouse the back really leans out when taking a tight turn at a reasonably high speed and not drifting it.

Yes a Stock Hicas is noticeable bigger than your stock non Hicas one...the one I have is 21mm I believe.

yeah hicas is good capible of makeing some noteable differences, and white line are pretty reasonably too, and can be adjusted too. Which might be a better option when u get better, and want to start plaing with set ups.

would a Hicas rear sway bar solve some horrible back lash after a top of second drift.Bacl lash: the car will kick back in the other direction of the drift. ie. The direction I am steering during the drift. Or is this just to much countersteering?

no that wont solve that problem, that snap your feeling is probaly u lifting off the gas pedal early at the exit of a drift. DONT LIFT at the exit, keep it down and straightin the car car out with steerting.

no, that snap is understeer. luckily solution for understeer is very simple; clutch kick more and gas more.

http://www.garageworksltd.com call them, they have some Silvia K's RSB's that are the same size as HICAS ones. They aren't listed on the site, but I was there last week and they had a couple.

im guessing you are still drifting with OPEN DIFF, and thats 90% of all back lashings. was for me. i picked up a nismo 2 way and solved all my understeeing, unpredictable pre-weight transfers, and that annoying 1 wheels sping.!.. so advice before even thinkin about doing more suspension is invest in a decent diff. vlsd is ghey and 50% of the time dont work well. so get of ur poor *** and buy a 2 way:)

hahhaha

he says he has a vlsd in his sig, and im sorry but i can do 90 degree turns either way all day in open diff cars, no its not neary the same in terms of syle, but speed solves all, if it dosent work go faster the car will slide, its all a matter of seat time and balls

I do have a vlsd and i have ****ty stock steely rims and tires that i bolt on the back when i drift. She gets sideways pretty good with the lack of traction on those crap tires. no doubt a 2-way is far superior, come to think of it i got the vlsd off a guy who just bought a kaaz for his s13. Also I have some good news a memeber on the board answered my wtb ad for a sway bar and he hooked me up with a hicas reas sway for $45 shipped. I will probably sand it down and paint it just stop any rust that maybe forming. Well i'll let you know how it goes. maybe a vid or something:-)

no thanks, we don't really need a vid of you installing a sway bar. considering there are 6 bolts holding it on, i think it's pretty straightforward.

you can do a pictorial write up if you like though.

haha.

I was thinking maybe some cheapy strut bars and a front sway bar. Which front bar would go good with the hicas rear bar?

thats a good start, i say start getting serious and go out as much as u can, try as hard as u can and im sure you'll get better, then mod from there, people that solve problems early on by spending money and makeing things too easy for themsleves cheat them selves outta basic tecnhiques, lol ive met guys that are afraid to clutch kick

The GR2s won't last long. I would start looking into some cost efficant coilovers. Just go slide around and see what it does. I have a similar setup and it works for me. My next investment on my was going to be coilovers and tein tie rods.

So i'm waiting for my hicas rear sway bar to come and i was wondering if maybe a front sway bar, a 3pc. set of stur bars from ebay, or some ebay hard tie rods would be worth it.

Tension rod bushings or adj t/c rods make a big difference. when i installed my kazama adj. t/c rods it changed the feel alot. more responsive, but u still need seat time. As a mater of fact i think ima add some seat time for me tonight

EDIT: I got ebay strut bars, a 3pc set Mookeeh(front/rear top and rear lower), then i bought a c-tune front lower support bar. The Ebay bars r alittle heavier then some expensive ones thats the only downside but not much. Also the only ones that made any real difference was the c-tune, and the rear top strut bar(hatchback)
