If you were to have unlimited car audio/video resources, what setup would you install or have installed in your ride? And what do you guys think about video in the car?

no way 12's are to big for my setup, and W7's sound sloppy i think, why change when I can hit 159 db already, but maybe add some VCD displays and a DVD/PS2 ect. but I like the sound I got, it is clearer than most systems I have ever heard.

i see i see im probably going to get another car before i think of a tv, cause i have the ps2 and have been thinking of it for a while. the w7's do sound sloppy hints the "yuck" above.

yeah true on the w7

I want tv's cause it would be pimp

now my 10's are mounted facing through the opening behind the back seat, and I have the rear seat out, and I am waiting to finish cleaning up the back seat with mabey some custom fiber glass or some white felt, but 12's won't fit through that opening, and it was hee to get the 10's to fit as is.

Dream system:

Two MTX RFL152's. But I have no ideal what to push tehm with.

So how about two MTX Thunder 8000 15's. being run by two 81000 D class amps. And I would have to do research on which head unit has the best features at the time.

RFL's are disgusting sounding bass. I want four eclipse aluminum 12's pushed by 2 memphis 1000d amps. Eclipse head unit and monitor, XM radio, DVD/VCD, changer. Alpine type X components all the way around. :) thatd be nice

I am wanting to do some small comps. But I have to say I have never heard them. No one around here has an MTX competetion vehicle.

How good do the memphis subs hold up? I have heard a lot of good talk about them, but have been out of action for about five years. Just got back into messing with systems about a year ago. One of the local shops is pushing them big time.

damn simm, this got me all excited... well i would have to say i'd go with two 18" Focal 46KX subs (quad 1ohm voice coils, 96 db sensitive) mounted in a wall, paired up with two Audison VRx 1.500's which would be pushing around 4000W RMS...

components up front would have to be AVI TriStar Components or CDT Eurosport 3-way components, powered by an Audison HR-100 :pface i don't even know if money can buy that amp... i also wouldn't be satisfied with the system until i got my hands on an Alpine F#1 Status. i think that would be pretty sweet...

For sound only...

Quart QWD 6.5" mids in doors with sealed enclosures. Quart Q-series 5.25" components in kicks. Each side run off a bridged SoundStream Reference 300 (may consider a USD horn config instead of kicks)

3ea JL 12w6 subs run off a bridged SoundStream Reference 500 or possibly Orion red

AudioControl Xovers, EQT's, Epicenter

Yeah, I'm stuck in the mid-90's as far as equipment goes :D

s'all good audtatious... a lot of the older equipment kicks the crap outta the newer cheaplier made stuff...

but i don't think there is ANY amp out there that compares to the Audison HR-100... i love audison amps, and this one is there top of the line limited production amp... it's 100Wx2 @4ohm, each amp takes 12 hours to build and test, and takes 3 months to get it after you order it... comes in a wooden crate and a gold plate on the amp stamped with the serial and production year, hell the amp even has seasoned Black Walnut wood on it :pface although i haven't heard this audison amp myself, it must be good :P

Interesting fact Ayjay... The former United States rep for Red Mountain Audio, that dealt with Audison, Denon, and Hertz, Kevin Campbell, actually used to work for Precision Power but now works for Morel. If you look in the current issue of Car Audio and Electronics Magazine, you will find the Morel VW Bug. It has one of the Audison amplifiers in it as well as the Morel speaker setup. Kevin told my friend and I that his favorite amps are the .2 Art Series amps and the early Power Class Precision Power amplifiers. When my friend Chris and I were in contact with Kevin Cambell and his associate about a sponsorship, he asked which amplifiers we would be running. We said PPI Art Series and he went nuts. He was really excited. So, needless to say, we are going to take this car into competition with Morel speakers and Art Series amplification and equalization. I know I am biased toward PPI, but its really cool to find other people that are nuts about it too. I am going to ask him about the Audison tonight or tomorrow. I'll let ya know what he says. Im excited.

Yeah, Art's are great and I love the old Reference SoundStreams as well. But, for clean mids/highs, nothing beats my a/d/s PH15 (IMO).... ;)

hey simm, the morels image very nicely.i had a very stable solid stage.good stuff.3"voice coil on a 6 inch speak.,man.5" or 6" ive used both.just almost got a denon zr1 deck but they wanted to much for used.i run the morel vented to the outside.because of the transfer rate i ran them 130 24 db slope on the nbottom and about 3k on the topside.12 db/slope..real nice there simm.your on your way.i got 11 first place s.q. with those in iasca comp.out of 11.i score mass in imaging and staging.normally 4's and 5's..i had some strokes and cant compete anymore cause my ears are way off.i cant tell were sound is coming from.im screwed.its over, damn.put some q tweets with those and smooth is the word.ive went head to head with focal and the likes so i know good sound.i have some heavily sponsored buddies.they all run prototypes.more often than not, will a competitor say hes running protos, when in fact hes hideing the truth.doesnt want you to know.like kicker cars and others are vented to outside ,but they will say,no its not.but when you walk by during judging all you here are the mids from under the car, right ,i say.

ok new dream headunit!!!! :pface

screw the alpine f#1 status... i'm goin for the Pioneer DEX-P9 headunit with the Japanese Spec DEQ-P9 processor unit :D my buddy was just tellin me about it, and i want it. uses 6 24-bit da converters, and has a 4 way crossover and crazy time alignment, allowing you to adjust time correction to any amp that is plugged in... imagine being able to time your tweets, midrange, and midbass independantly, left and right, and your subs so that all the bass is up on your dash :pface (i think i'm even dumbing it down a little and it actually does a lot more than that) apparently time correction on subs sounds amazing.. the processor unit also has a 32 band eq for left and right channels. ahh ****, i just drooled on myself

i've heard many people say that the boston Z6s are the best sounding 2-way components ever made... apparently they're amazing but i haven't heard a set myself... they won a couple awards last year, so must be pretty good

yeah... i've heard the same, just from other people not from the speakers.... when i saw them on bostons website i was instantly attracted. i mean the ability to handle power, take abuse and a number of other things like the pros, but then also the price of mb quart Q's has to say something about quality. i don't know anyone that has em, so i have yet to listen... i can only imagine how great they are.

well turns out my buddy has heard z6's and he said he'd take the Focal 165k2's any day over the bostons, think they'e in the same price range too...
