Maybe I'm just retarded, but where and how do you drain and refill the fluid in an automatic transmission? Thanks! :help

should be a drain plug on the trans and you put the fluid in through the dipstick tube.

How much fluid should go into the transmission? I know you can test it with the little dip stick but I'm wondering how much I will need to buy? Thanks.

And involves pouring a lot of liquid in a tiny little opening deep in the engine bay behind a ton of other components.. and for some reason, the 89 Auto transmission does not have a drainplug in the transmission pan, but the 93 does. Go figure. Hence my earlier confusion as I had only seen the 89 pan.

The pan you can unblot and when you're taking it off, carefully tip it so the atf rolls from one corner of the pan. it may help you to not have all the bolts removed, have the ones around the corner you're going to drain the pan from removed, and have the ones on the opposite side to help you keep the pan up. Remember to change the strainer and get a new gasket. The oem nissan one has asbestos in it though (if they're using the same gaskets from the one I used last year when I changed mine).
