Drainage...

So I am getting ready to put my z on the road and I just bought a new battery. For a week now it has been running beautifully but i noticed that theres this pain in the *** light below the dash by the floorboard on both sides that will not go out. Over a week it has completely drained my battery and now i cant even get the starter to turn over. Does anyone know how to disconnect this properly so as to not drain my battery any further. Does this have anything to do with my door sensors? How do i fix this its driving me insane?...

Its seems that it would most likely be your door sensor. Use a volt meter on it. When it is fully depressed there should not be a continuity reading. When it is fully out there should be continuity. I can't think of anything else that would cause your floorboard lights to stay on, unless there is a short somewhere.

but... what i am asking is can i just disconnect the damn lights. i dont care if i have them or not i just want to stop the lights from killing my power.

Yes, you can disconnect the lights. Just go under there and undo the connections that are right at the light.

lol I had this problem for a long time ago. The door is misaligned on the pass side for me so the sensor gets stuck open since it can't close all the way.

taking the bulbs out didn't solve anything for me... let me know how ur stuff goes tho
