Hello guys, During the week I came up on my oil drain interval, and changed the oil and filter after work, I did not have a new drain plug washer, I reused the original washer as this was the first oil change and did tighten the drain plug to 25ftlbs. is this an issue? I will be getting some new drain plug washers as soon as I can get to the dealer...

I`m javing a hard time finding these online, the ones I found were so far away that driving to the dealer is much cheaper than the shipping costs, but at the expense of paying dealer prices... I`m not being cheap, just looking for convenience and ordering online... thanks for your help...BluVersa...

Nope will be fine... I have been known to re-use then 3 or so times.

I have picked mine(washers) up when I was ordering filters.

steed, I just got back from the local dealer and bought 8 washers... that`s what they had in an open bag... what type of filters do you use and where do you get them?

I used the hastings LF113... I think they are a better quality than the OEM.

I know there are many opinions on filters and oil and synths etc... the best thing is what works best for the situation and if the driving habits warrant longer drain intervals...

I`m on the bubble about switching to Amsoil in the cars, I never keep the oil in longer than 7500-10K with Ea filters. but the other car is an Altima stick and could prolly benefit from the synth`s, well see... Thanks...

I get OEM filters.... I get anything but Fram.

I would NEVER trust ANY oil for more than 5K miles. just because the Versa take 3.5qt.. it's sooo little oil, just change it.

copper crush washer 18-20 lbs in or hand tight (crush washer crushed) newer versa's have a higher oil capacity compared to earlier 06-07 units factory filters are fine

but i personally recommend wix filters myself and recommend sticking with 5w30 oil, also highly recommend oil changes any where between 3750-7500 miles depending on weather you use conventianal oil (3750) synthetic blend (5000) or full synthetic (7500)

engine air filter when dirty replace or clean depending on weather it is a reusable unit or not. cabin micro-filter every 15000 miles or 1 year which ever comes first more often in dusty conditions/ high pollen season's .

that is just my 2 cents worth.....wait with the current economy make that 6 cents.

I've never heard of replacing the washer when changing oil. I've never replaced it, and never had a problem. Oh well.

first and only time I did not replace it and the sucker leaked like crazy, it is a few pennies so I replace it every oil change now
