drain plug blocked

Hi this is a very strange issue and I haven't seen anyone else mention it. I took off my coolant drain plug on my engine block (KA24DE) and nothing came out (with rad cap off). The end of the bolt was all black and looked like carbon or something was on there, I also couldnt poke a screwdriver far into the drain hole on the block. Here is a picture of what the inside of the drain hole looks like:

I have just been waiting for the coolant in the block to drain through the small hole in the t-stat then down through the bottom of the rad. I'm just curious as to what happened here...

it looks like the bolt you took out snapped off in there. Just pull the lower hose or look for the drain on the radiator.

Ya it wasn't me, I assume previous owner cuz the end of the bolt didn't look snapped. Undoing the lower rad hose doesn't do much tho with the tstat still in there
