I don't know anything about the game, but the trailer is SICK.

Been looking forward to it for a LOOOONG time. It's one of my 3 MUST have games this year, along with Torchlight and Borderlands.

It's basically a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate. A party-based RPG.

One of the big boasting points for the game is that the stories for each of the character types is entirely different.

I'm kind of disappointed that the marketing for the game has taken a sex-symbol turn. One of the trailers uses boobs pretty strongly. I like boobs, but that kind of stuff is what you expect from lesser, "B" games these days. Dragon Age doesn't need it...it's got more than enough clout to get by without frivolously tossing boobs around. Just kind of drags the whole image of the game down a bit. Every half-assed POS game has an elf with not much clothes on the box now. DA is a AAA title and should be focusing on marketing it's AAA features, not taking plays from the Evony book.

Regardless, my view of the final product hasn't changed much. It still looks like it'll be a deep, story driven RPG with lots of polish.

You should check out all the other trailers for the game. There are quite a few...character trailers and regional trailers for places in the game plus a few more.

They had me when they announced that it was the "successor" to Baldur's Gate...still one of my favorite RPG's, that game will always rock! Are these not the same people with Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect, Neverwinter Nights, Oblivion and KOTOR(both of which I've yet to play) under their belts so you know the story will be addictive. Minister I've seen much footage on this game but can you direct me to the "boob" footage please sir...yeah I'm sick?

I've said it before:It pisses me off beyond description when games come in various editions with different IN-GAME content. It's bulls***. Complete, unjustifiable bulls***. I'm paying for THE GAME. I should get ALL OF IT. The fact that the collector's editions have significant additional content (they have new abilities for hell's sake) makes me want to skip this game completely. f*** bioware. Until they feel like giving me the FULL game with ALL content for the normal retail price, they can spin on it. Offering boxed extras in collectors' editions is one thing. But making the gameplay entirely different for the different versions is beyond lame.

I may not buy this at all. I'll have Borderlands (which already has DLC in the works and it's not even out yet) and Torchlight...I don't need some horsepucky crock of scat that wants $25 more to get the "real" game.

It came out at midnight, I know someone on here has got their copy and played it....so what's the word? I pre-ordered mine at the EA store so it probably won't be here until Thursday or Friday.

I've read good reviews. I'm still too pissed about the differing content to pay money for it.

You are getting the full game, unless for some reason you can't actually complete the game with when you purchase the standard edition. Those paying for the CE & DDE are just getting some schwag, some items and an extra quest. Or is there something else not present on the DA webpage that got added? If you want the extras just buy the CE or DDE.

As far as them spinning on it, consider that EA is involved here - when is the last time they cared about their consumers or what they wanted?

Something I read a while back indicated that the collector edition would have additional abilities in addition to all that crap. If it was just some stupid ring and helmet, I wouldn't care.

Now that I would understand completely. An ability would completely alter the way the game would play out.

Something tells me if that happens that it would be more of an EA thing and not so much a Bioware thing. I've never been steered wrong by Bioware so far. I'm really looking forward to playing Mass Effect 2.

I've had mixed reactions to Bioware games over the years. It's never been due to an outright bad game...just games that don't suit my taste. I have the original Baldur's Gate sitting next to my desk (all 6 discs or howevermany). I never really got the appeal of that one, or the KOTOR games. But I liked NWN and Mass Effect.

Great game, playing as a human noble. I've barely scratched the surface but what I've experienced so far has been awesome. The only thing I don't like is that your character doesn't speak their dialogue like in Mass Effect.

I can't say I've ever played a BioWare game where your character spoke dialogue.

it looks really good, i just wonder if i'll have the time to devote to it. seems with these games its not worth if if your only playing like an hour at a time. i rember trying to play oblivion that way and i'd get on to spend an hour just returning loot to my room then im done for the day.

that is crappy if they are adding diffrent play elements in the upgraded option, those speacial addition big money extras should just be crap like the modern warfare night vision goggles and stuff like that, it shouldnt be adiffrent game.
