Anyone else notice that the chart lists the Altima Coupe as the leader in their category called "DFD" ("Dollars for Desire")? The site describes the category in this way: "A measure of how much you'll pay for each unit of "Desire." It is calculated as follows: Base Price / DF. Lower numbers are better -- unless money is no object." The A/C scores a $524, the lowest DFD ratio of any car on the chart.

Totally subjective, perhaps, but pretty cool nonetheless -- especially since the G37 scores a $636.
Hey that's right! I totally paid the cheapest for all my nice desire factors with the Altima coupe! Nice

the 07 altima 2.5s has a 0-60 of 7.4 and the coupe is smaller and much lighter so 7.2 isn't that surprising.

Maybe i'm being a little naivehow in god's name does a "normal" driver in the 6spd get that much more out of their car than the CVT ????????? someone help me on that one mind you it is a standing quarter
My guess is that the CVT still uses a pump, so there are some additional parasitic power losses associated with that.

Are there any links to documented best time runs for the 3.5 with the manual vs. the CVT?

Thanks.

Its in this thread, lol 0.4 seconds crossing the 1/4 mile point is a few car lengths, but thats not really the thing, the trap speed is the thing to look at. and 15.7 seconds to 100mph is the real eye-opener. Seem's as the CVT runs out of balls as the speeds increase.

Yes and Car and Driver had trouble with this as well.So they ran a CVT and slush Auto together with same car and the slush box did better mpg.So much for the CVT being more economical.Don't remember the Nissan model used, sorry.

So all you guys would think the standard 6 speed is faster..

Well, all the test magazine revs the sh*t out of the motor and drop the clutch to get 14.2 ....no one is going to do that on the street.

The CVT is deceptive last, and dips into the powerband way faster than the 6 speed and on the road the CVT is just smooth and fast(er).

OK, you guys...flame away.....

I agree you would have to abuse your car to get this , I had an 03 6spd accord coupe and the best time I ever got was a 15.2 - with altitude compensation that was = to 14.9 and that was the best time I had ever seen published for that car . THE only thing I can atest to is in order to obtain that I had to abuse the s*** out of the car POWER HOP galour !!! I only drove this car like that because Honda Canada agreed to replace the P.O.S. under warrenty and I was waiting for my new P.O.S , I would never never try that with a 6 spd I intended to keep .
