ive been recently looking around at wheels (im building a CA18DET Drag S13). Ive kind of decided against using welds or any weld knockoffs, because the Prostars do not offer a 4 lug pattern and since this is not an autox car i do not see a reason to upgrade to 5 lug.

anyway. What im thinking of possibly doing is sportmax 15x7 up front and 15x8 out back with a 275/50/15 BFG Drag Radial tire out back and a 225/50/15 generic sumitomo or cheap brand in front.

I have noticed alot of people doing the "stretched" look on the sport max 002's on S13s here on nico. just from searching misc threads.

I was wondering if anyone has ever seen some big ol fat tires out back of the s13 on 002s and if there are pictures i might have missed. also wanted to double check that i use a 0 offset front and rear... im sure it will stick out in the back but not sure on front

yes, 15x8 +0 will stick out. If you want cheap yet good drag wheels, you should look into Diamond Racing wheels, they have custom sizes and offsets.

+1 for Diamond Racing wheels. Cheap 10in wide wheels ftw!

15x8 would be a good choice... for the rear but im not sure what offset id want. I cant check without having the wheels here and really dont know how else to go about this... this is an extremely huge undertaking right now cause im still building my motor but need to get some wheels soon.

15x8 rear 15x4 front

i want to be able to fit a 275 drag radial on them... id like the WHEEL to be flush, but the tire can stick out, or if i can be flush and tuck them thats fine too... i have MR coilovers going on

bump for some opinions on +0 offset, for 15" or 16"(sportmax 002's)

the 15x8s do stick out a little but its no biggie... and if your cars low then your gonna have to roll the fenders

you wont want coilovers on a strictly drag car

ive been around drag racing a long time. Yes you do want coilovers for drag racing. They are a customized set of MR's that i have done up with moroso Drag Launch springs. (4kg spring rate rather than 8)

The biggest thing with a coilover is getting the car's ride height correct so it will not lift the front end off the ground (thats just a loss of ET) and the other thing is the coilovers will help you leave the line straight if you set them up properly.

im no drag racing dummy. I know a solid axle setup would be better. Cant afford that at the current moment. But 90% of the drag cars (door cars) you will see at your local track that are tubbed out with big 15" slicks, are using coilovers. its an adjustablity thing, setting the ride heigh from side to side can help the car more than you know.

as for wheels, i did 15x8 out back with 15x4 up front.

no, with them being 32 way, and my experience with them in the past, i should be plenty fine. I had a similar setup on my Green Car but with Eibach 4kg springs, never had an issue there. just didnt like the eibach springs. I had moroso's on my mustang and loved them.

The 275/40/17's +35 offset I had on would tuck. All you need to do is trim the inner lip flush. Its a tight fit but I had no rubbing. You will be satisfied with alot of meat out back. Hope you dont break the axles like I did!!!!!!!!!!!!

i wont be leaving SUPER hard till i get my axles from the driveshaft shop... ive got spare trannys but dont think ill need them with the lack of tq a CA has. Thanks for the input on the 275s tho, mine will be a 275/50/15 tho so mabe a little more bulgey sidewall, but as LONG as they tuck a little ill be happy, i want to lower the car as much as possible to get the lowest possible center of gravity anyway

thanks guys

Can you guys give me advise what to do with suspension (I'm very on budget)? I'm new to those things. Now I have stock everything + lowering springs. I had 13.6@108 last year

hahaha i just bought cheap ebay coilovers (godspeed) and had them modified, but if your on a budget, best bet is put back in your stock rear springs, and get adjustable KYB shocks out back and up front

Hey, I was wondering what bolt pattern you ended up going with for the Weld wheels? If you could let me know that would be awesome, Thanks

You mean these?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1VNot exactly cheap and KYB AGX are also not very cheap. Do you think they could give me some weight transfer? Better than just stock shocks?Too bad nobody is doing dragracing here - nobody to ask...

Hey thanks for getting back so quickly, I checked Weld's Site and the closest thing I see to that pattern with a 5.5 on the backside is a 4X4.25/4.5, would this be close to what you were using? They also have a 4x130? Thanks for your help
