Drag racing San Diego

Well I found out there is Friday night drag races at qualcomm stadium. i went this past friday and it was a blast. $30 to race all night. Needless to say i was the only coupe there and a few of the racers didnt even know what my car was. the outcome since all i have is an exhaust was 10.7 in the 1/8th mile at 67mph. there is going to be another race on march 18 same place. The website is http://www.racelegal.com for those that are interested. Also if you dont have a helmet you can rent one there for $20. Hopefully by then i will have my pulley installed and see if that makes a difference. Let me know if you are interested.

not bad. right not my best was something like a 10.196 at around 70mph. I'm hoping to go sub 10sec in the 1/8 and get into the 15's for the 1/4 . a lot of people critisize racing a 2.5 but it's a lot of fun. keep it up man and you'll get better !! cant wait for the season to start here!!

Yes i agree it is alot of fun even with an auto transmission. i found that it is faster with it in D than in the manual shift mode. that is a good time for you. I am still new at drag racing but im sure once i get a decent RT then i will drop my time.

RT doesnt effect your time, it's more for bracket racing. For an auto thats a good time. thats around a 16.8 1/4 i think. I'm still pretty new as well at it but I'm hooked to it.

I have lived in SD for about 3 years and never gone. I have heard about it and been meaning to go and just check it out. I will be there on the 18th. You cant miss my car.

im the only "modded" A/C in my area, ppl STILL dont know wth we're driving-its been 4yrs man com'on! Grudge racing at the track hasnt start yet here but drift practicing has!

that is unless you have slips lol. but i plan on making some videos when my times are more impressive, after I work on a few things I should be doing mid 15's or better stock hopefully. then I'll make some videos! youtube has nothing for the 2.5, for all I know I'm already the fastest at a 16 flat (dare I say??)???

Sweet. I have watched once and raced once. I got my light-weight pulley in today too... score. You cant miss my car either, i am the only shmo with blue rims. Lol. but maybe some more people will show up too. Cool thing is, you dont have to race there to have fun. I live right across the street too so if anyone wants to come over i am making pizza on the grill.

hey i think i remember talking to you about fastest 1/4 mile times stock, mine was 16.5 & i think ur were telling me 16.2?? curious if youve hit faster since??

Yah, I remember lol. 16.0something was my best. I'm a reliable 16.1-.2 most of the time. i've been figuring ways to lower my times over the winter. this year I'm going to focus on my launching cuz thats whats been killing me. still pulling off 2.4 sec 60' though lol. but I've hit a 9.3 in the 1/8 at my colleges dyno, thats like a 14.8 1/4 lol (i wish). I'm hopefully going down to jersey next week to race, not serious cuz i got snow tires on though, just to practice. To be honest I'm aiming for something like a 15.4 for the 1/4 this year, if i do better thats awesome, if not I'm still happy because that still a freaking good time. I want to see if i can get bragging rights for being the fastest completely stock 2.5. I'll probably post videos when i get a friend to come with me. who knows, maybe I'll have one next week!

deff. do! thats a very impresive time if you do hit 15.4 stock... ive been dying to go since i got the bully dog, i just need to practice, last time i went i was a lil discouraged lining up next to, 2011 mustang 5.0, supra, & newer camero ss, also a new mecedes amg ??? that was hitting 13 flat

dude, i go to college in muscle car central NY, AKA upper NY. I'm almost always the only import at that track. It's funny though, I raced a camaro SS and kept up with him for the most part, thats pretty sad lol as he's got 300hp more then me, either he was di*king around or was a bad driver, power isn't everything if you cant put it down.

but i was playing around with a buddy of mine ( AutoG35) & i actually stayed neck & neck with him i wanna say from 40-100, he was inching away but just barley it was super interesting because before my mods he'd give me like a 2 second head start at the light & after this past run he just looked at me in suprise & shook his head, after i told him not bad for a 2.5 huh? & he hasnt raced me since lol

but when you do begin modding your engine I highly recommend the bully dog 1st! or the header!
the header gives a noticable gain BUT the bully dog tuner Gives u about the same power increase feel & lets u adjust multiple things, when i raised the idle is when i had my best launches! deff. reccomend that when u wanna work on ur launches & technically ur car would still be all motor lol

yah, it always puts a smile on ones face when their 4cyl gives someone a run for their money, the G cars are heavy, If I was to buy one it wouldnt be for speed. as for mods, well lol.... I know exactly what to do, I'm going to be going in a little different direction then most to get my power. I'll put it this way, If i had like 6G's I would be pretty da*n fast. I'm not going to say what it is, but when i can do it i'll be telling everyone here. and it will be all motor. auto launches are best if you rev the engine to just before the torque converter engages, idk what it is but probably somewhere between 1.5-2k rpm i would guess. cant wait for next week.
