Downshifting Problem

Hey all, just picked up a 95 240 with about 70 000. Everything works great except I can't shift down to first from second unless I'm just crawling. If I push it, she grinds. Is this typical or do I have a synchro problem? I searched it but didn't come up with anything. Input would be appreciated.

Supprised there hasnt been much flamming. You probably cant shift into 1st unless going 5mph or less. This is for safety. Best not to force it into 1st, sacrifice some bogging and put into 2nd instead of sacrificing your transmission.
