The time has come for yet another upgrade. This time it will be for a 3" downpipe.

Seeing as how its hard to get a CA downpipe and my other choice being a cut and rewelded SR downpipe.

Has anyone had any luck finding true CA 3" downpipes?

Can any of the Euro guys or Madscientist help me out?

I'll take a used downpipe as long as its in good condition.

I just want my last choice of the SR downpipe to be just that.

But if I change my 02 housing to a SR 02 housing then I can use an SR downpipe with no problems right? I looked up some old threads and people say there might a problem with it hanging too low. I think USDM_Onevia did this?

Has anyone actually tried a SR 02 housing and a SR 3" downpipe?

If not, i guess im going to have to be the guinea pig on this one if I cant find a CA downpipe.

The general populous agrees the SR combo will work, but it will hang just a tad lower. The SR o2 housing is longer than the CA one. Also you will need to close off the hole for the AIV in the SR housing.

Do what most others do here. If you are not going to upgrade the o2 housing, just get an SR downpipe, cut it, and reweld it. I got my downpipe from HeavyThrottle for 150 shipped for a blinging stainless steel one. I cut the flange off of it, put the flange on the o2 housing, lined up the downpipe, marked it with a marker, gave it to a buddy of mine with a 6 pack of Corona, and about 20 minutes later, I had a downpipe that fit.

If you want a CA one, try perfectrun from Australia, or check out the sxoc.com boards in Europe to track one down. And shipping overseas isn't terribly expensive either. My HKS actuator was 6 bucks to ship, and I am shipping a clutch to Latvia today for 28 dollars.

Choice is up to you though. If you go the SR housing/SR dp route, I have a stock SR housing you can have. Just pay the shipping on it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...35050 I emailed them and shipping is $100. I don't know if that $100 AU$ or US$. It's a little expensive after shipping, but I think that is what I'm going to get anyway.

It says it for both the SR and the CA, but like Joe says, the SR O2 hang lower so I dont know how that pipe would work.

Joe, how much longer is the SR O2 housing than the CA?

Or make your own... I will be using this:

and use mandrel bent steel pipe and the flange to make a downpipe/o2 housing combo:)

I dont have an extra CA o2 housing

That flange doesnt have the hole for the wastegate exhaust flow.

Yup.... best bet.

I did it that way, and my downpipe is neatly tucked up under the frame rail. Haven't hit it yet and I am lowered on Sportlines with stock rims.

forced performance sells a better flange with a wastegate exhaust flow thing...
