hey whats up everyone, i was wondering what size down pipe everyone is running on there rb motors, i have a 26 with a gt40-94 and full race manifold and there is verry limited space to work with, i have some 4 in stainless and that will not fit, so i ordered some burns ovaled 3.5 in pipe and that is still goin to be verry tight, im trying to get the most flow possible so any ideas would be great

typically most turbo cars use at least 3 inch...if you can fit anything biger than that its a plus...

if permit transition 3" to 4" is ideal but 3" will be fine.

i can go 4 in or whatever once i clear the steering shaft but before that i know i can do three and if i beat the hell out of the pipe where the steering shaft and mani hits then i can clear 3.5 but i just didnt know what people are running and i know that the full race mani is big size, just want the most flow possible, cause this is just my street turbo, im goin to step up to a gt42 or larger eventually

A 3-inch elbow isn't going to hurt anything especially since the rest of it is 4-inch back. And don't beat the pipe in on the side to clear the steering shaft. That will only disturb the flow and ruin any kind of gain that you might have had from the larger diameter.

I think someone should install a drive-by-wire steering servo on an RB-swapped 240 to make room for larger down pipes. Any takers?

too dangerous. there is no fail-safe with a steering by wire system. i think that is why production cars don't have them. throttle by wire you can just fail to closed throttle if any of the sensors go out. with a steering system, you can't just assume the driver wants to go straight
