Yeppers, I've used the exact same pipe in both 16 and 18 gauge. Works like a champ and is cheap and easy. I love mild steel, course I mig weld everything

Welcome to KAT...err atleast I haven't seen you, but I just got back myself.

My first mani was a JGS I welded up myself. And yes I Mig with gas for shielding. The flux core wire is sloppy and smokey, still works though.

actually i never weld before, that's why i'm only gonna weld the the dp myself. the manifold looked pretty difficult to weld, just gonna get the welded one from jgs. it would be a pain in the a@# to find out there a leak after the turbo's mounted on the mani.were you able to weld you aluminum itercooler piping with you mig welder?or you use steel for them too.

Yep, me too...not much for saving weight but it was cheap and I did it myself. My next project will be done with aluminum, maybe even some PVC, depending on what some research turns up.

i'm using aluminum for intercooler piping.i found welding stick for aluminum piping, you only need a propane torch.i tested on some small aluminum pipe it work out pretty good.

Yeah, I use oxy/acetylene for welding and cutting now. Works good for aluminum if you're careful. Post up some pics!!!

Not a problem man, I look forward to the pics of the on going project. Hopefully mine will be going together at the same time. I'll be jumping into it full time when I get back from SEMA.
