So my car is in the shop and I'm waiting on my BRM cat/resonator/exhaust. I have a 3" downpipe. It's taking a lot longer than expected and I'm very frustrated and want my car. Should I be in the clear to drive away with my downpipe only? I've installed a new clutch that needs to be broken in so I'm pretty much going to be driving easy on it, and the weather is about 60-75 at any given time right now.

I've seen some posts of people saying at the track they'll do some runs with just a downpipe, but would like some more feedback.

Thanks.

If your local PD don't give a crap about how loud your car is then feel free to drive, otherwise be patient.

When I had the KA I took off my exhaust in my parking lot because it was rattleing something terrible and I was replacing it in a few days anyway. It was *pretty* loud when I stepped on it, but if I kept it at a respectable RPM level it was pretty tolerable, oh and as long as I didn't take the freeway to go anywhere ><. I'm only driving it 5m to work, and back everyday if that, and I can throw the exhaust in on saturday, I think I'm gonna go pick up ma baby.Oh I forgot to mention, I'm picking it up from the shop because I just swapped in the SR and I haven't driven it yet. I have some other goodies I want to install that I didn't have the shop perform.Wish me luck!

Stright downpipe are loud as hell!! But so is the turbo. So it sounds pretty cool..Cause you can hear the turbo clear as day.

Well I picked 'er up and drove her home it was like a 40 minute ( 30 freeway ) drive, the temp got a bit high if I took it @ or above 3000 RPM so I had to do about 2800 all the way home. Wasn't too bad, and you were right about hearing the turbo, it was pretty sweet music, since my CD player was stolen a few months ago. My exhaust will be here in a few days and then it won't be so mind rattleing, damn I started getting a headache. Can't wait to be able to actually shift past 3k and hear the BOV :D

Thanks for the input fellas

Oh and I saw a S13 with the front end conversion on the way home and wanted to tail him but I couldn't step on in and it made me sad

Great way to get your car stolen. Thats how my system got stolen bumped it a little to much.

But since i got my ssqv its kina hard to keep it quite, hell shifting at 2500 rpm still lets off a woosh.
