Has anyone successfully downloaded their phonebook from their iphone 3gs? Nothing ever seems to happen when I try this.

You can't. The iphone wont let you transfer the phonebook, as other phone let you do it. Another limitation of the iphone

I "successfully" transferred my phonebook from my bberry. The weird thing is that I still DONT have/see the phonebook saved in the car :/. Not sure if it is because we are limited to save only 40 contacts.

I think you are better off to save the people you call the most manually. Unless you can use another phone and transfer it using the "Transfer from Handset" option. It will be a little easier this way.

One problem i have from my 3GS is that the contacts name wont display correctly. All i see is a bunch of numbers and letters (about 45 digits). so I can't see who's calling on the display. I have to look at the phone to find out. Another car i have is able to read and display the phone address book correctly. My G and 3GS dont like each other

It's not the iPhone. One of my cars is a 2008 BMW 335ic and the phonebook from my iPhone 3GS loads just fine (as well as the music directory).

That said, my sister just bought a 2010 Murano and is having this trouble. The dealer acknowledged that their system doesn't yet interface with the iPhone 3GS just yet (who knows why Apple changed the interface!)

Well I don't have an iPhone, but I was able to move my phone (LG chocolate) contacts over to the car's phonebook. You have to do them one at a time and while I was at it, I did a voicetag for each one.

So maybe you need to do one at a time
