down pipes to test pipes 300zxtt

I have 2.5in downpipes to 2.5in testpipes. If I upgrade my downpipes to 3in do I have to change my testpipes to the 3in also or will the 3in and 2.5in flanges still bolt together without a problem?

They will not bolt up, you will need 3" test pipes also. Then you will need 3" cat back also. Or get 3" taper down to 2.5" test pipes, like these :

Just my 2c, I have 3" everything and it sounds amazing, I like rolling without a rear section because it really accentuates the whirl of the turbine at low revs, it is however ear-piercing at full tilt and likely illegal where you live (as it is here).
