Hey guys i havent been on here in a while but im back for a bit atleast. I drive a 04 G35 5 a/t and have got alot of grief from people about it being auto. at the time my car was totaled and i needed something quick and the only coupe infiniti had were automatic's and i test drove it and loved it so i bought it. Now im looking for a manual since i have my finances under control. i love my car but its not manual and apperently you cant make autos fast!!! i have been looking at the 11' WRX or possible a newer g35 6. my price range is around 25,000 i would like to have a g35x but their not manual. Does anyone have any suggestions??? :poke:

Some of the new auto trannies are faster than the manual and give you better mpg.

Anyway slap a turbo in your car and call it a day.

Dont sweat it man

Its a lot more maintenance for a manual

Stick with your auto, you can make it fast

Or pay high dollar for a manual swap and computer

The best way to put a manual transmission in a car that came with an automatic is to trade it for one that came with a manual. Ditto for going the other way.

Modern automatic transmissions are very good. The only reason to buy a manual instead of an automatic is that you want to drive a manual. That's why I bought a G37S coupe back in 2008. It was the only model available with a manual transmission. If I were shopping today, I would have to give serious consideration to the all wheel drive version of the coupe even though it only comes with an automatic.

Manual transmissions and clutches are high maintenance only if you abuse them. When I gave it away two years ago, my 1984 Mazda RX-7 with 190k miles still had its original transmission and clutch. The same is true for our 1998 Subaru Legacy wagon with over 200k miles. The Subaru should last at least another 50k miles and maybe 100k.

What is it that you want to have/do? There are a lot of options that you have.

I have a 5AT and I think that its plenty fast. With the right mods you'll shift faster and have as much/more power than the 6MT.

Nothing wrong with auto's.

For 25k you can easily upgrade to a newer coupe with 6mt. Your call.

Manual's are less maintenance because they are mechanically simpler. Like somebody else mentioned, they are only more maintenance if you abuse it and burn up the clutch. You can abuse an auto just as much, and when an auto goes bad, it's a much bigger pain to fix.

But onto the subject of the thread...

I think you should buy my G37 :) Just sayin'
