my car ('90 s13 w/ sohc) idles at just over 1000rpm, however, still reved smooth and had decent power... after some diag i found out that the 2nd cyl from the front of the engine is not working... it has spark, but with the engine running, if i were to pull the spark plug wire out of that cyl there was almost no change in how it idled....
after unplugging the injector harness i checked for resistance of the two middle injectors, they both were the same (checked out to be ok)... after plugging them back in, i start it up, kinda hesitated to start, but started on first try, and revved ok and sounded fine... however, when there is a load on the engine, ie: in a gear, it sounds like when you shift into 5th gear at too low of an rpm. first sounds almost fine, but noticeably bogging or something, and each higher gear it gets worse...
with the engine running i looked in the engine bay for maybe a loose connection or something, the only think that i found is that in certain possitions (the injector wires for the 2nd cyl from the front) would make the engine idle slightly smoother for about 5 sec, then idle a bit rougher, like it usually does... after finding this, i drove it around the block once more, and the bogging issue still persists...
any help or insight is greatly appreciated
