Ok so I'm driving home on the Fla-Turnpike cruising @ 70mph (speed Limit) when I see a Turbo Passat pull onto the Turnpike in the lane next to me. It's black, lowered with aftermarket wheels.. I see the driver looking at my car and my wheels. There is a car in front of him doing 65Mph and he does not have enough room to pass me. He pulls behind me and gets 2 FT off my bumper.

I kindly remind him to back off by lightly slowing down to 60Mph then speeding back up to leave a proper distance.

Again he gets 2 FT off my bumper, I break again this time with a medium force "hey back off!"

I speed back up to 70mph and by this point we have passed the car in the other lane, so I get over to get out of his way. Well he passes me and gets over in front of me.. Now I know what's coming from this douche! I hit my breaks and put a good five car lengths between us before he can break check me.. I see him looking in his rear view mirror with a pissed off expression when he sees how much space I have created..

he gets back over into the lane next to me and starts slowing down trying to be sly.. he expects me to end up passing him, but expecting to cut me off before I do.

So I slow down with him... 70, 50, 40, 30, 20 mph on the TURNPIKE!! (only two lanes) Cars are backed up behind us.. So when we hit 20 I shift into 2nd and gun it leaving him behind before he has time to react.

I speed up to 70mph and continue to cruise along. I then see him coming up on me as fast as he can... I know what's coming so I move off into the emergency lane just as he tries to sideswipe/cut me off.

All of my actions were smooth, precise and prior to his.. it's amazing how predictable these douche bags are! it's almost as if there is a douche bag manual that is issued with all VWs.

Anyway I could tell the guy was pissed but he just sped up to 100+ mph and gave up while I continued my 70Mph cruise home.

!!! Idiots !!!!

Next time, just hold up your cell phone like you're taking his pic...he'll take off and leave you alone.

Ok, I'll tell my story. I was on a 55 backroad heading into town, when this pickup truck pulls out in front of me. It was night, so he saw my lights and still decided to go. Anyway, I was a little pissed but as long as people speed up after, I'm fine. (unless I have to slam on my brakes of course). Nope...this guy decides that the speed limit is 45, so I get on his butt to try to get him to go at least the posted limit of 55...

Nope. He turns on his windshield washer to get my car dirty...which made me laugh...but I'm still pissed that this guy pulls out in front of me and then goes way slow. The road doesn't have any passing areas either. So this continues for about 2 miles to a stoplight. The guy gets out and says "do you want to go to jail tonight?" I say "I'm not the a$$hole who got out of my vehicle to confront another driver....that pulled out in front of me and went 10-15 miles under the speed limit putting me in danger."

Well the light turns green, so he gets into the truck...I was very proud of myself for staying in the car...the wife was with me anyway. So now the road has 2 lanes, and I speed off in the other lane, which of course he follows 2-inches off my bumper. At the next light I pull out my phone and lean out the window to snap a pic...he backs up and gets in the other lane to turn right. PUss.

We laughed about it for the rest of the night...which was ruined because we were worried about the G.

I just wish drivers would drive with a sense of urgency. I'm not saying to speed, just do the limit or 10% over...is that so hard...oh and use your damn turn signals....and get of your phone....

ok, I'm done now

i have more stories of almost getting hit or getting yelled at by somebody at a light or something on the bike then in my car, but i was up in nh coming home from snowboarding and the same thing happened to me joe, It was a 55 and i was in the left lane cruising guy pulls out infront of me not into the right lane but straight into the left lane and doesnt speed up, so i go into the right lane to pass him before it merges back into one lane. Apparently this pissed him off enough to tailgate and high beam me which does nothing considering i have tints/ mirrors tint. As we got onto the highway he got right up my *** and pulled next to me yelling and swearing at me. Flipping me the bird and just being a d!ck. We just ignored him which made him madder and he then pretended to drift into my lane . I waved him goodbye and then took off leaving him behind.

Please use your turn signals there on your car for a reason.

I take offence to that. I have had 10 VW's and my wife has had 2 of them. Neither of us are "douch bags" (granted we both drive Nissans/Infiniti's now) Please don't place the blame on the vechile brand. Place it on the driver. The same can be said for every make of car on the road.

And I am also a VW Master Tech. So I deal w/ the brand and it's drives daily. There are some nut jobs driving them, but like I said. All brands have them.......

I've seen more d!ck driving VWs (Mostly jettas), BMWs, and anything with a HEMI than any other car makes.

It's not the vehicles. It's the drivers that gravitate towards them.

My recent story happened yesterday while driving my wife to work (I had an interview later in the day and it's 80 miles from home). While driving through the typical semi-thick traffic an airport van realizes that his lane is an exit only and decides to move over into my lane. What really annoys me is that he had the convex mirrors, so he should have been able to see me. I honked and got the hell out of there. That would have been a fun situation in the courtesy vehicle.

I also got an old moron in an 80 accord hatch back who decided to plug up the passing lane just before it merged (he held 2 or 3 people from passing). I drove behind his slow *** for a mile or two and another "passing" lane opened up (It's really just a double lane at each intersection). I blasted away when the light turned green and he had the audacity to honk at me. Then again down the road. And again when I got onto the freeway.

He didn't mean everyone, he means the a$$hole kids who think their cool and have no regard for everyone else on the road. I will agree that I see alot of those in WV's

Joe:

I have a policy of making the lives of those I catch slowing down traffic as a result of cell phone use, miserable. I am usually pateint and i drive behind them without honking or being agitated, eventhough I am probably boiling inside.

The moment I get a chance to pass them or get in front of them, I start to slow down until they move over to the slow lane and get off their cell phone or I keep slowing them down until they are crawling. If they try to speed away in the other lane, of course, My G's acceleration is up to the task to ensure I keep them behind me. Trust me, I have gotten the attention of those in cell phones this way.

I completely agree with you. There are many SOBs out there whose only sole purpose is to aggravate other people.

And i continue to maintian that traffic mishaps is a result of stupidity. The DMV should start testing drivers for stupidity---this is probably a better indicator of accident risk than anything else I know. Problem is, how do you measure stupidity?

I will start by postulating:

Stupidity = 1 - Expected Rational Intelligence

If we can measure "Expected Rational intelligence", then we should be able to identify a person's stupidity index.

The higher a person's stupidity Index, the greater they will be a risk on the road, at home, at work, or in any activity that requires rational intelligence.

OK, you are driving down the road and you see a car approaching a stop sign up ahead and they run it just so that they can get in front of you.....and then they do 10 mph under the speed limit!!!!! It's a bi-product of the instant gratification generation.....How about the MySpace - LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! Generation.... guess I better shut up now.

True words SVT!! Kind-of on that same line of the "generation me" subject, I had to read a book with the same name for my business ethics class.

Very interesting stuff! The author explained that the self-esteem building in school has totally warped that generation's minds. They expect that the world will treat them like that...even after school in the work force. This leads to a false sense of how the world works and a huge problem for employers. The book also explains that it's much tougher for these kids, which is why so many live with mom and dad even after college.

Check it out: http://www.amazon.com/Generati...r=8-1

+1 for BS stereotyping VW drivers.Just remember... Nissan is Infiniti.... >>>>>>> VW is Audi, Porsche, Bugatti, Lamborghini, etc.ALL the above brands share parts from with parent companies... Both groups are world class vehicles.

L

ps. If anything, BAD drivers ... forget it.

About 2 years ago, I was driving at night on one of our wonderful FWYs and dumb B!7CH cuts me off and almost runs me into two other cars. I was in my I30 at the time and I knew how to handle her. I turned on my high beams and started following her through traffic.

My wife was so pissed that she made some comment about throwing food at her car (some quote from a movie). I told her to check my back seat and she found an individual sized apple sauce cup. I pulled up past the dumb B!7CH and my wife tossed the apples sauce cup at her car (which splattered on impact).

The woman tried to follow me. I braked hard and got behind her. She kept trying to get behind me, but I wasn't going to have it, so she would move with me like we were doing the tango. I couldn't shake her, so I got a brilliant idea...

I signaled like I saw going to exit the FWY and OF COURSE, so did she. When She was far enough up the exit, I pulled out of the exit lane and back onto the FWY. I can just imagine how angry she was about that one

This is a very true story. No Anybody who knows me well, knows I'll do some of the most extreme things with a calm collected attitude

Email me if you need to talk to my wife to verify lol.

Once in my altima I cut off a driver in a Mazda 6... lol So I gave him the finger (after cutting him off)

He tailed me for over 20 minutes in downtown traffic he was kinda nuts looking you know what I mean He had his face all red with anger, my girlfriend was late for work, so I never bothered to work things out with the Focker.

I didn't pull any 007 type stuff like Sentient, but I was able to lose him in the fast lane... Go altima Go!!!

Anyway, I didn't have to use the 9mm in the glovebox, hey Tampa

Oh, and I've been schooled hard by a VW... Rabbit.... boosted 400hp... wanna see it??? Do a search for silly rabbit on custom obsessions website. http://www.customobsessions.co...10241

Back when I was 17....Went to pick up my NEW gf across town (in G-boro).Started back to my side of town where my friends were having a party.Got chased by her X-BF and two of his buddy's. I was in my 69 Mach. They were in his banana colored Cuda.We played chased thru several neighborhoods....I REALLY didn't want to stop!!!

Got back on a 4 lane road with grass medium headed back to my side of town. He blew by me, called my NEW gf a dirty word as he passed.

I finally took a deep breath....

Up ahead, I see him hit the brakes hard and slide sideways across both lanes!!! YES, we went 4x4ing in my Mach thru the grass and did a U turn.

I did finally slam on brakes in one of the neighborhoods and jumped out of the car. I reached behind my seat for my nunchakus, but decided not to take them....wtf was I thinking!!!!!

He was so stunned that he told me to take good care of her!!!! He was a big SOB and I was waiting for the sucker punch, but he never threw it.

(So, why could I not out run this guy??? My pressure plate was toast and had to wait for the RPM's to come down before shifting.... Otherwise, he would have NEVER kept up!!!)Yeah, I did some stupid sh** when I was younger....

I usually do 10% over the limit and if anybody tailgates me i don't even move, ill stay exactly at the pace i was going. I drive my land rovers most of the time and the way i see it he can hit my rear end for all i care, 6000 lb truck with full solid steel tow bar, sometimes i wish they hit my rear end so i can see what happens.

That's wonderful. Someone needs to get his wife, or one of his kids to the hospital due to an emergency and you teach them a lesson by hogging the left lane. Real bright move there MagicM.

I support a tri-city area (Indy, Louisville and Cincy) so I do a lot of driving. I usually don't get drivers pissed off that are in front of me because I don't tailgate (at night, while in the Maxima I would move somewhat left in the lane so my 6000k HID's are hitting the sideview mirror and that did a good job at getting their attention to move over.....Need to upgrade the G's lights for that purpose). What I do run into are younger girls (80%) who stay in the left lane and make everyone pass them on the right. Seems they are usually in Chevy crap-boxes as well. Just yesterday I was behind two girls in a Cavalier who refused to move over. When I passed them on the right, the passenger pointed at me like I was killing the environment by speeding or some such BS. Of course, miles down the road I could still look back and see them in the left lane with a huge line of cars behind them. The "I'm special and can do what I want" mentality really sux today.

Construction areas amaze me. I'm doing 76+ in a 70 and pass people. Come to a 55 or 45mph construction zone and I keep it within 5mph of the speedlimit for safety and those I passed will whizz by me at 70, not bothering to slow down. Stupidity amazes me.

Truckers are the ones who irritate me the most. They whip in front of you doing 61 in a 70 zone only to pass another trucker doing 60.5mph. I have this happen all the time when it's just me catching up to them. Seems if they wait 3 seconds for me to pass they will miss a meal or something.

Finally, I wanted to shoot some dude yesterday. Idiot with a huge Dodge crew cab pulling a flatbed with a bobcat. Yep, driving in the fast lane blocking traffic. Yep, with every bump in the road there would be dirt clods and gravel flying all over the place. I was a couple of cars behind him and was having to shift left and right to try and avoid these missles that were the size of my fist. I must have done a good job because I did not notice any bumper damage from his azz.
