hea....those anyone had a problem with cluster needle going nuts? I own 91 hatch and when I start the car or drive the speedo goes crazy jumping back and up and down. I tried smacking the dash and it goes down then when I start driving it goes crazy again... and I have no way of telling my speed beside using my gps to tell my speed....

It funny cause I scare people in my car cause at time it say 100 or so and I'm crusing like a snail.....

Is this an automatic? It's somewhat of a leap, but I have experienced first hand fluid siphoning through the speedo cable and contaminating the speedo head. It wasn't a 240, but a simple cleaning of the speedo pickup in the dash cured the problem.

it a automatic, not to sure what a "leap" is, but the cluster doesn't have a speedo cable it has cable attach to a sensor that attach's to the transmission case, then it get signal from there...i trouble the codes on the ecu but nothing no error car running tip top with only 200,013 mile on the clock. odd and funny i have to take some video to show it but i have been lazy to do and i also have to take some of my foglight set up for another topic on the forums

After I posted that I remembered that 240s use a electronic speed sensor, so other than the speed sensor getting contaminated, the fluid can't make it to the speedo head.
