Hey I was hoping someone could clarify this for me, preferably someone who already has/had the stillen rear wing for the AC

Just got it in the mail today(came ridiculously fast...thanks stillen!), and it already has sticky tape on it, running across the entire wing. In other words, every part that would touch the body has tape. However, this confuses me because the directions say that putting a few (3 or 4) pieces is beter then running one long tape. And also, it needs to be painted/prepped as well.

So my question is, should I ditch the tape thats on there now and then just use some other that I will buy, or can it be prepped/painted with that tape on.

Thanks,

Ryan

Have you tried emailing Stillen and asking them? I've had pretty good response turn around time.

Last time I called Stillen they gave me the absolute wrong answer. But Kyle sorted it all out.

Mine came with the tape too. The wing is so small I don'tthink it matters whether it's in strips or one long piece. It'snot going anywhere if you get it on correctly in the right spot.

I'd recommend doing it in a cool place though as the hot sunwill heat up the tape and make it difficult to stick properlyon the ends. Get it down good after cleaning the car whereyou are going to stick it......then try to keep the car out ofthe sun and as cool as possible for a few days to let that tape bond well.

My body shop put it on in the wrong place and refused tofix it....so I'm redoing it. I'm not going to worry about howlong the strips of tape are. I'm going to try to do it exaclylike it came from the factory.

Almost all of our urethane comes with the tape pre-attached. As long as you don't remove the red cover until you're ready to install the parts you won't have any problems with getting overspray or anything on the tape.

We apply an adhesion promoter to the tape when we put it on here so I wouldn't recommend trying to remove it.
