I am thinking of buying this but only thing holding me back is the fact that q's have a more rounded bezel so do you guys think the radio would hit the bezel when opening?

its cheap enough that if it dosent work or sound quality is an issue i wont fret about it.

reason for wanting this is the factory bose stereo is crapping out on me.sometimes it shuts off for no reason and the display dosent work.rear bose speakers were missing when i bought the car but the bose amps?i assume were left back by the gas tank.

if anyone has a double din radio of this sort please share your knowledge....

one more question....if i do get this radio i have a harness that plugs into the stock harness and wires into the new raio harness-will the bose amps/speakers still work?

or will i have to run individual wires to each door?dont want extra wires lurking around if there not needed. :poke:

The Bose amps are part of the spearker assembly. What you're seeing is likely the fuel pump control unit, or another control unit of some sort.

The Bose amps are not compatible with an aftermarket head unit without an adapter. That said, you don't have much of the Bose system left, so you should be fine. The wires from the radio to the speakers should work OK if you're not trying to run anything major wattage-wise.

Not sure on fitting. Most Double-din decks work in the Q, so I assume this one would too. I know some people here have run Pioneer's AVIC with no problem, and this appears to be similar.

Check this one double din, at Walmart. It's another choice, same features and screen size but no i-pod controls.

I have a double din in my 98. You either need a converter or you need to rewire the speakers. As far as fitting, it will fit perfect, you just need a bracket around it to take away from the ghetto look.

Well Here's an update....i received the double din radio i bought from ebay, its ok the gps portion is awesome but the radio controls and the rest are lacking(big surprise lol)

i mean for 240$ shipped you cant complain much but if i was to buy another radio.....i would just buy a quality name brand single din

audio quality is alright but when at low volume you can hear kind of close to tv static, cant describe it but you hear soemthing else along with the music playing

fitment-it fits in the slot :rotfl the radio trim from the Q is a real tight fit towards the top so in the normal position the radio cant eject the cd,the radio itself sticks out its not flush by any means lol but i figure il keep it for a couple of months and if it drives me nuts il resell for what i got it for.

The radio has a tilt option so i adjusted it till it stops hitting the trim and opens and closes freely-makes everything easier to read too

Hooking it up was quite easy-all wires were color-coated and had very clear instructions as to how to hook it up.

As far as accuracy with the gps-il let you guys know tomorrow,il be taking the Q on a 3hour trip to wichita for the hood :woot:

Overall its ok for the money, the touch screen is pretty responsive,it has bluetooth handsfree capability(have not tried it yet) built in gps and it plays dvd all for 240Shipped

Could be better but hey you get what you pay for----now onto the pics

all the doodadds it come with-ignore the trunk-previous owner did that, trunk will be recieveing a Q45T spoiler this weekend courtesy of Mike  after i remove the globs of filler it has on there ATM :nono:

this is the tilt option i was talking about-if i find a Q at the jy il take the trim piece ad cut that one up and see if i can get it to sit as flush as possible.....if i can find a Q

You can get rid of the static noise by installing filters on your wires. I am not sure which wires they are, but I had that noise after having my system set up, and took it back to the shop so they could install those filters. It's like magnetic small filters that go on the wires.

I think I have a spare dash section of that same color if you want to try trimming it.

Aside from being difficult to pack/ship, I wouldn't want much for it.
