Anybody know a company that makes a Double Din kit for a single head unit application. I am looking for one without the storage pocket because let's face it having that pocket there looks like ****! I had a jeep wrangler that had a double din stereo and when I had a shop in town install it they used a dash kit that installed the single head unit in the middle of the fitting. I would like to find something similar for a head unit for the Z. I think it look so much better with out that pocket!

Welcome to Nico!I'm not sure how the kits for the Z33 are assembled but for some of the kits I have seem the pocket is optional, of course in this configuration the source unit it still up top, have you called crutchfield? they have all manner of kits and a tech department that might be able to tell you of your options, and if they don't have a kit that centers it you could always considder a double din source unit

Metra kit #99-7402 supports a single to double-din and has all of the interchangable parts.

I haven't seen anything that centers a single din for the Z. You might consider doing some custom work. Dash kits always look kinda lame. Modifying the bracket to center the stere would probablt be fairly easy. Then you justneed a sheet of ABS plastic or if you want to try working with fiberglass, you can really clean it up.

/////ALPINE makes a nice din sized center channel and a din sized EQ/processor or you could use an Audio Control Three.1 and Epic160 stacked to fill in the opening.
