I'm considering replacing my stock stereo with something else, I'd welcome suggestions. What I'd like is to add something that gives USB connection and Aux in. It's also be nice it looked fairly stock. I'm thinking it'd be nice if it where double din but doesn't have to be. It'd also be nice to have an Aux in so I can send audio mp3's, navigation sounds etc from my phone to the stereo. USB would be handy for charging my phone or connecting a USB stick. A plus would be having an SDHC slot as well. My price range would be less than $200. I've seen double din DVD players on Amazon in this price range but I just don't trust no name brands when it comes to this type of equipment.

I'll looked around online and in some stores but haven't found the right balance of what I want vs price. I did have a single din unit that did all of the above in my previous car but it was a no name brand and went through 3 of them during (the devices) warranty alone so I'd rather do it once this time lol.

In the world of mobile A/V, you really do get what you pay for. You've got a list of a number of features that will be hard to find in a quality unit at that price. Your best bet might be to find a A/V forum and check out the classifieds there. Many people who get caught up in the hobby upgrade frequently, and sell off old gear to help subsidize the upgrade costs. A used quality unit (that was taken care of) will outperform a new cheapo unit everyday.

As far as those features go, a lot of head units can be made to have an AUX-in. Many offer a composite input and would only require a mini-composite adapter to get audio from your phone. The down side to this is it wont interrupt what is playing on the head unit. You'd have to leave it on that input all the time (meaning play music from your phone and let the phone cut over to navigation when commands are read). I wonder if I still have my old Alpine W205 laying around...

I just got a pioneer avh p4300 double din off eBay for 350 bit pricey but I'm sure that there are other double dims for 200$ and lower. JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer are pretty good brands I hear. If u want to get a single din you have to get an installation kit I believe.

Thanks for the responses. I would like to stick to around my budget as I only listen to CD's from time to time. It'd be nice to load up a CD with MP3's and leave it in there or stick in an SD/USB stick. I don't really need anything to shake the earth lol Just something that works and is of decent quality. Used wouldn't be a bad option now that it's mentioned as long as it's not been abused then thats usually what makes me buy new.

I've been looking and seen some JVC, Pioneer, Sony.. etc. I'll just have to keep searching see whats out there or stick with what I've got.
