doors and rockers

i was told that a popular thing to do to lose weight in the vert is to swap out the doors (which are heavy as hell for stiffening purposes) with regular s13 doors and just fill the rockers with 2 stage foam to make up for it....

is this true?

Yep.

There's an article here I wrote with a step-by-step, and you don't even need the "foam" - the vert chassis is quite stiff already.

The vert doors are not heavy for stiffening purposes - they're heavy because of all the structural width that was added to conceal the bigass seatbelt retractors, since Nissan insisted on having belts that you didn't have to unlatch to get in / out....

You won't lose anything with coupe doors, except a whole lotta weight and a whole lotta ugly.

kool thanx. i still plan to foam it, because let's face it, there is no such thing as TOO stiff, especially in a vert.
