It's either a failed power door lock actuator, an issue with the lock mechanism or the wiring. Getting inside the door to look at it isn't simple as the entire power window assembly must be removed to get at it. I would let the dealer look at it.philbert1998 wrote:The passenger door lock won't activate using the key fob.All other doors work fine.Is there something that has been disconnected? Is it a simple fix ?
NTB09112 - CP 2008 - 2009 Rogue; Steering Gear - Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign
On some 2008 - 2009 Rogue vehicles, the steering gear housing cover screw may have been manufactured incorrectly. Over time, the screw may gradually loosen, and could possibly fall out. To correct this issue, Nissan is conducting this Voluntary Safety Recall Campaign to confirm the steering gear housing cover screw is tight, and also install a "lock plate" to prevent the screw from possibly coming out of the steering gear housing. See this bulletin for further detail.
My Rogue has a key slot/lock on the drivers side door. 2 weeks ago my keyfob battery died... I used the key to unlock the car. Also, why is there no way to use the key to lock/unlock this vehicle ?
The dealer can scan Nissan's database based on your Rogue's VIN number to determine if the TSB was applied.philbert1998 wrote:I just got the Rogue recently so I haven't had any TSB's done & I don't know if any were done by the previous owner.I'll have to have the service records checked to find out.
I don't have the TSB, but I believe dis-assembly of the door is required. The TSB for the door handles, does that require any disassembly of the door?If so maybe that led to the power lock failure or can contribute to its repair.Thanx for the reply.
The door trim panel isn't the issue. It's removing the power window assembly to get at the wiring and actuator. The Rogue has a power window setup that is completely different from other Nissan's I have worked on. It's a huge panel that covers the entire door opening. Be careful removing it... and if you fail to line it up correctly when re-installing you will have power window issues.philbert1998 wrote:It's not that big a deal to get the door trim panel off.
The creaky steering wheel has happened to others including myself...my dealer replaced the clock spring under warranty and it hasn't appeared since, but there are some others that are still having the issue, even though the dealer has replaced numerous steering items several timesrobf70837 wrote:This vehicle doesn't seem to handle cold very well.
First the gas gauge goes all funky at temperatures below 40 degrees F.
The steering wheel creaks with every revolution at temperatture below 10 degrees F.
Now this morning (5 degrees F), my driver's door would not close until I toggled the door lock. Now it won't open at all from inside or outside.

BTW, did you have the door handle TSB done yet?

Many cars with power door locks have gone to a single mechanical key/lock on the drivers side door only. It's very common nowadays.

This is exactly what happened to me. 0 degrees in Chicago right now.Ozzimotosan wrote:I have a 2010 Nissan Rogue SL AWD. Twice the drivers door would not close, and then to today it would not open. Both times I had locked it to keep it close. Finally to open it, I pressed the black button on the door handle while using the key. The door opened right up, and is working fine now. Haven't found out what that button is for yet, but I'll be looking it up in the manual when I have time.
