Door won't open

So, we have a 2004 Quest SE which I've been working diligently to restore to some semblance of order. I bought it at a good price (not great) as the body was in good shape, but it needed timing chain, wheel bearings, etc.

Now, it is on to the doors. The one working sliding door- curbside- first lost its retractor cable, and now the door won't open at all.

I removed the interior panel, and all the cabling is fine, I just can't get the door latch to release.

Anyone have any help at all?
