Ok, here's the story. I got my car washed about a week ago as it was extremely dirty. The temps were about 10 degrees out not figuring in the windchill. My car stays parked inside a garage at night and during the day it sits in a parking lot while I work to pay for it.

Fast forward a week and I'm heading to my favorite beer store to pick up some new seasonal stuff since it's pay day. I load up my car and start it up and as I'm about to put it in reverse I notice some guy holding a bunch of coke cases in his hands and resting them against the hatch of my Versa while he is trying to open my hatch. WTF? I thought at first that he was about to drop what he was carrying and he rested his stuff on my car ( ) to get a grip on the goods he was carrying. Instead I hear my hatch being attempted to be opened as I heard it continually clicking (I lock my doors after starting my car). Next thing I know the fool is trying to open my rear passenger door. Finally, I roll down the window thinking "Hey moron, this ain't your car!" But before I could say anything he says "Oh, ANOTHER Nissan Versa?!" Apparently this idiot has a Versa to (I didn't see it) and was trying to get into my car as he though it was his. However, my car was running and I had the brake lights applied so I don't see why he thought this was his car. Who knows, maybe he and his hoodlums he was with were trying to car jack me. Good thing that didn't happen as I would be fishing out limbs from underneath my car.

Anyway, I get home and I didn't see any damage or anything (1st new car, I'm paranoid I admit) but I couldn't open the door that this guy was trying to open up. I can't recall as everything happened so fast but I don't think he was really tugging on the handle hard. Anyway, I tried opening it from the inside and outside and it won't budge. There is a possiblity that my door is frozen shut from when I had the car washed but every other door can open. I think I'm going to wait for the weather to warm up and try opening it. Otherwise I'm going to the dealer and hoping that whatever is wrong the warranty covers it otherwise I'm going to hunt this idiot down who touched my car wrong!

Wow, I'm sorry dude. I seriously thought it was my car. But seriously, there's been more than one member who's complained about the door being stuck closed or not closing properly. All have been in colder climates. See if it will open after it's a little warm. Regardless to if it opens or not, you should get it into the dealer to check it out for possible damage or tweaking.

Do you hear the release mechanism operating when pressing the hatch button?prob.the micro switch in the lock latch assembly is faulty.does any 1 know of a emergency release?on the hatch u really dont need it but would be neat to have.

p.s. lube all you door seals/trunk seals with spray silicone!this way even after car wash ull be okay.
