Welcome to the forum.

I'm moving this to the correct sub-forum. Also, see if that information isn't available in the FSM (link in my signature - HowTo/FAQ).

You want impedance, size, and frequency of the tweeters that you’re going to remove? They are held into place with a strip of metal that has two mounting screws that are screwed into the panels that rides along the top of the window. To remove that panel, you must remove the door panel. It is held on by two plastic panel clips under the tweeter and clearance-fit along the top of the window. The tweeter is screwed to that metal strip with on screw directly in the back of the magnet.
There are no aftermarket tweets that mount that way. I mounted some Alpine Type R 150Watt tweets in that spot by cutting out the required 2 inch hole for them right where the dactory tweet was, then they had a screw-ring on the back to hold them in. Model SPR10TW.

I later switched to Hertz tweeters but used the Alpine mount for them.

What was the impedance of the tweeters?

Were they one inch, do you have a model number and did they make a difference in sounds?

Of the stock tweeters? I’ll see if I can find them. I think I threw them out.

Thanks for your help
I have this car for two weeks and can’t bear the lack of highs on the system. It’s supposed to be the best oem audio system for this car but it’s very far under the mark levinson I had on my Lexus GS.
I already have a pair of focal tweeters and wanted to use it . I think at the same time I’ll do some sound deadening work on the doors when I remove the trim
I’ll tell you how it sounds later

I couldn’t find my stock tweets so I must have trashed them. I had the PS165 Focal components for a while. They sounded great but weren’t tough enough for the power I wanted to run. I had those tweeters in the stock location, too. They were 1-3/4” I believe. They were 4ohm with 90 Watts RMS power handling.

did you run them off the Bose amp, or install your own?

Work done today.
I’ve changed the tweeters for focal tis 1.5 with 4.7mf capacitor
In the same time, I’ve add some sound deadening around and closed every opening in the door.
I’ve also replaced the 6x9 woofer for Focal isc 690 which fits perfectly to replace the crappy Bose woofer.
Music is really better, better highs, better bass and more intelligible sound and instruments.
The main difference is on bass. Before it was muddy and sounded as in a barrel, now it’s more tigh and clear.
When I listened at high level there was saturation, now I can listen much louder with better sound.
Before that I put high level on +3 and bass on 0, now high is on 0 and bass on +1 for better sound.
Nice result for 50$ and three hours work.

any issues running these directly off the bose amp? If I recall, the stock speakers are 2 ohms, and obviously replacements would be 4 ohm which would cut the (probably low - but bose won't tell us how much) power to them in half.

There are 2.8 ohm for the 6x9 and 4 for the tweeter. No problem at this time with the Bose system

Did you get any pics of this procedure?

Going up in resistance/impedance should reduce stress on the amp. I've done many audio systems in the past and I got to say I was really impressed with the system in our cars. I stream Spotify and I do adjust the eq which does make a huge difference in the highs etc. The system does reproduce the highs and lows but the recording needs to be high quality.

Great job on the upgrade? What is the sensitivity of these speakers?

This needs a bump. I am looking for impedance on the 8cm (3") midrange in the front door as well as impedance of the 6.5" rear door speakers. It sounds like it's possible to impedance match these to a level of greatness. I plan to start my audio improvements by isolating the sub by covering all holes in the hatrack and seat back panel with noise dampening material to create a true baffle between cabin and trunk. I'm leaving the sub in place, but want to replace the other 9 speakers in my 10-speaker Bose system. I know the 3" in the dash is the same as the mids in the doors, so any help here would be greatly appreciated. If you happen to have a set of these speakers laying around, please put a multimeter on them. Thanks!
