Door seal got loose

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

My driver side plastic door seal has become loose. Is this a common problem? Is there an easy fix? Hate to drive to the dealer and waste time for such a small issue.

I have same problem on my car, but after tinting. I wonder if the dealer will fix it.

Service Bulletin ITB07-034b is for this. The title is "2007-2008 G35 SEDAN & 2008 EX; DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LOOSE". It says it applies to EX built before 02/08/2008. It lists a bunch of steps for the dealer to do to fix it.

I had the same problem with the driver's side door weatherstrip (or whatever you call it) on the top of the door coming off/loose.

Took it to the dealer to get it fixed.

The dealer fixed it. I don't think it is a replacement. Looks good now.

the door seal is coming loose on 3 doors...will they just replace the seal all around or apply some kind of adhesive?

They changed the designed on the 07 G and 08 EX.

These new seals block the noise well but for some reason they tend to come out of their mounting. This is easily resolved with some adhesive and being reinstalled. It's pretty simple and there is no need to replace anything if they are not damaged.

Not sure if this is a door seal sort of issue, but I smoke (yeah yeah, I know!) and I drive way too much to not smoke in my car. But I won't smoke in it with the windows up.

However, has anybody else notices that if you have the drivers window down even an inch or two, and its raining a bit (even just drizzle) BUCKETS of water come in through that 1-2 inch opening and pour all over the inside of the door.

Never noticed this on another car, and it certainly wasn't this bad on my Murano.

Smokers FTW, fight the resistance.

My 95 has the same issue, even if I wash the windshield it seems that every drop of water ends up either in my window switch or my lap. There are rain guards you can get but that alters the streamline of the profile of the car. If you are one of those people who look for functionality over vanity you may want to look into that. I really do not know why these cars rain inside. The EX isn't nearly as bad as the original G35 coupe, and even my wives Acura RSX. These cars actually seem to have a vacuum that draws water inside the normally dry interior.

Yeah, I know what you mean, being in the same boat as you, albeit a drier one. It hardly rains here so I haven't experienced the water issue. It's too bad that side window deflectors aren't made for the EX yet because that would solve the problem. Even non-smokers would appreciate them as they enable you to crack a window for some fresh air when it is raining or snowing. I imagine the rain intrusion issue is due to airflow and the shape of the car, which obviously varies from car to car.

I am really surprised that there are no rain guards available for the EX. I though I saw someone with these I guess I was mistaken. I will keep looking and ask around to see if I can find anything for you guys.

Home Depot or Lowes sells the rain gutters. I can let you have mine.
