Door scrape

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I went to the bank drive-through this morning. My deposit slip flew out of my hand and when I opened the door to get it , the edge of the black plastic part of the door that frames the window hit the teller window. Now the black peice that frames the window has a 2" scratch right along the EDGE. It appears white ... almost as if some of the black coating was scratched off when I hit the door. You can only see it from a 45 degree angle, but still the car is new and I hate stuff like that. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks.

unfortunately that is something EX35 paint can not self heal. you probably need to take it to the shop. IF it were not too deep, i would get some black paint and touch up to the door but if it were deep to the metal then you need to get it fix asap because it will get oxidized

Ramprun, that's what I did today ... the scrape was so small that I used some black spray paint and it covered it beautifully. I'll put a second coat on tomorrow ... and perhaps a third coat top build it up. I simply sprayed the paint on a piece of newspaper. Then I dipped my fingertip in it and ran it along the scrape. Took all of 10 seconds! Thanks for the hint!!!
