Door protectors?

I just bought an 03 G35 yesterday and i am brand new to the site. As for the username.....apparently I typed it out too fast and missed the H. it should be 03WhiteG35, oh well.

anyway....my question is as follows: the car has the strip that runs down the car to protect the doors from door dings, which is fine but i think it looks bad so how can I remove it? i think it is just held on with an adheisive but i dont want to ruin anything if I'm wrong. Any suggestions?
