Hi... I have a 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT... At slow speeds and on certain pavements, the metal speaker grill on only the left (driver's) door panel will hum, vibrate... How does one pop the door panel loose or in some other way get this metal grill cover off???

It's under warranty so I could of course take it to the dealer and ask them to try to fix it but I always have fears about what the dealer might make worse so I've wondered how hard it would be for me to figure out how to pop this grill loose, then to perhaps turn it a little bit and put it right back on... The rider's side grill doesn't vibrate, only the driver's side and I can reach down and put my hand on the grill cover while it vibrates and stop it instantly... So it's not much but just gets on your nerves after a while... And since the other side doesn't vibrate, it must be something pretty simple...

Can the grill cover come off without popping the door panel loose or is popping the door panel the only way to get at it??? And if popping the door panel is the way to go, how do you do that??? I grabbed the bottom of the door panel one day and pulled a bit just to see if it felt like it would give at all and the answer was no... But granted I only pulled very lightly as I don't want to do any damage...

Any thoughts??? Any advice??? Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks... Bob...

Hey Ditto... just wanted to acknowledge your post... I don't know the answer... but hang tight and someone more "mechanically inclined" will chime in soon!

This happened to me in both front speakers. I took it to the dealer and they had to open up the grills and tighten the speakers. They told me not to turn up the bass in the car because the speakers can't handle it.

I would take it to the dealer.

Those clips can be a pain to remove and very easy to break. If you can live with it, wait until you have more warranty work. I had my clutch slave cylinder replaced, my seat tear fixed (new bottom cover), and even the glove box adjusted (The light was on, causing a distraction at night).

i've had the same prob! considering taking it off myself and tightening/bracing all loose fits.

i won't accept the answer "keep your stereo down." didn't buy the car to have limits!

Take it to the dealer and have them perform the TSB which adds pieces of foam like pieces to the inside of the door panel in specific locations described in the TSB. This should also fix any slight rattles you hear from the window as well when its rolled up.

read ITB05-050 on page 2. You will have to register on the forum to download it. If you can't get the dealer to do it because its for a sedan, then do it yourself like I did.

Red_Det... Thanks much for pointing me to the place where I can find service bulletins... Unfortunately I had already downloaded another file before I got to the TSB you suggested and I ran into the "one download per day without buying a subscription" rule..... So tomorrow I will download that TSB and learn more... I might have more questions after I download that TSB but this helps a lot... Again, thanks much for the info... Bob..

The speakers come loose a lot in the infiniti's. Even after I took them to the dealer and they tightened them, the speakers still rattle a bit if you put the bass above +2. It's really disappointing in such a nice car to have the sound system rattle all the time.

This seems like a great forum. New user today. Came across this thread - wondered if you could suggest?

I have a rattle in my dash. Especially at lower speeds and at low revs (3rd gear, let the car slow down). The dealer said she could not replicate it. However, she also did not want to service the car as it is an 06 6MT (but US) and was pissed when she had to.

Also, when braking, especially at lower speeds, something isn't right. Vibration and feedback coming back through the pedal. Again, they said they couldn;t replicate. Any thoughts?
