I "think" there are two screws/ I know for a fact that you have to pop a plastic cover inside the little pocket on the door panel and there is a screw there. i also think you have to pop a circular panel on the door panel and unscrew a screw there too. Cant remember.... Its been awhile but I am 90% sure. After that, I pushed up on mine and it came off. It may take some force but dont break anything. I dont really see a reason to remove the mechanical fan unless you you want to clean up the engine bay or it wont cool enough due to a turbo install?? Not sure why. I HOPE he put electric fans in its place somewhere inside that fan shroud that is still installed:rolleyes Fromw aht I hear it is kinda the same methodology as getting unorthodox pullies...frees up HP's. Probably very minimal and unnoticeable on an N/A vehicle. A gain I could be wrong. I only removed mine because when you do teh RB swap, it wont fit!!!!

EDIT: as corn said...gettign it back on is FUN. Be prepared to buy somemore of those little plastic pieces that will probably break...LOL. They are cheap at a local parts store. I bought some early chevy ones as they matched up well with the 240 ones

NO it ownt hurt anything if you put electric fans in its place. If that person is just smobbing around with no type of cooling on his radiator, I would NOT follow his lead and do that. Now if you replace it with say 2 10" electric fans, it will not be detrimental to your car or performance as far as I know
