I found this document and thought it might help with others attempts to disassemble there accidentally purchased S model to make all those mods we need to in order to be as cool as those with SL's.

still a little confused, it dosent really say mind you it is a glass repair thing; but to take our door panels off do we have to undo the power window and lock switches and what about the trim ring around the door handle. intrested in putting in some new speakers. dont wana break anything, it was easy in my ranger just wana be safe ya know

to make things short..my right hand mirror got totally smashed by a hit and run driver, so i had to go to the service center for a replacement..
he had to take of the door panel to reach the cables connecting the mirror with the electronic switch inside the door!
i was watching him closely how he did it and these are the excat steps he took!:
1- he removed the silver part of the door knob2- he popped out the plastic part of the door handle which has the glass electric switch3- under the plastic thing he removed there were 2 screws, he took those off too4- he slide a plastic tool (just like a flat head screwdriver) in the space between the door panel and the actual door5- he pried the panel all around and then lifted it from bottom up 6- under the panel was a nylon sheet covering the spaces in the door ( i thought that was used to detect any tampering, but it turned out that it prevents the whisteling noise at high speeds!)
All that i didnt pay a single dime
all covered by the insurance.. (ALL RISK Insurance)
