door panel carpet removal??

so i was readin a write up on removing the carpet from the door panels to just black plastic, i tried to remove mine there no black plastic behind it, just wondering if the convertibles were different then the hatches in relation to the carpet on the doors and the glove compartment

The hardest part about removing the carpet is in front of the center console. You will either have to cut it or remove the dash and the brace bar going across (supports the steering column). As for what your looking for. Im assuming you mean the kick panel. It has plastic push in poppers. Just pull on quickly but carefully. The only difference I see with the HBs and converts. is the roof (and rear) and the extra bracing for the converts. Everything else should be the same.

Oh. Theres rivet plastic screw-ins that you remove. It should be behind the plastice trim pieces. I remember mine was pretty easy to remove until I got to the below the radio. Its really straight foward. Just look around, remove some trim pieces and you should be okay.

mine doesnt come off like that, the carpet doesnt come off the panel.

Vert doors are different than Coupe/Hatch doors in MANY ways.

on vert door panels you cant do that you can only do it on coupe/fastback panels..

Vert panels need to be upholstered. There is some fabric backing permanently mounted to the inserts.
