Try slamming the hatch again, probably will take care of it for you.

Yup, my rear hatch has been my problem a couple of times.

I only need to use slightly more force than gravity once overcoming the gas shocks, so a true "slam" is more force than I need to use.

Hasn't happened to me in a while, so I guess I have "learned" the proper amount of force to use.

BTW, I never located anything to adjust for the hatch sensor, so it has been all acquired technique for successful closing.

The only thing I slam is a magazine into the butt of a pistol. LoL.

I have not had that happen yet with my Versa, but with my prior Element the Rear Hatch connection would seem to "go out" when it got real hot in the summer and it would go on and stay on 1/2 the time. It required repeated slamming of the rear hatch at times - just in order to lock the car up.

Yeah I had that couple of times when I first got my V 3 months ago.

I knew it was the hatch cause I could hear it rattling. Maybe have the dealer grease the latch next service?

This car is sealed so tightly that often I have to shut the doors a couple of times. I guess that is what makes the ride so quiet!

My hatch sometimes doesn't latch all the way too. I usauall give it a light tug after shutting it to double check. I think the car is sealed up fairly tight, so the last door you close will resist shutting. I've had the same thing happen with the back doors also.
