mine just did the same thing i had to cut a 2 1/2 inch hole in the door panel 4 inches above the arm rest3 1/2 inches from the door jam then replace the panel

Hi, I have a 94 j30 with the ever so popular stuck door. It is the front driver's side door and I think the latch is frozen shut. I have a latch and actuator coming along with a slimjim kit. Does anyone have any tips on getting the darn door open? Thanks in advance.

Yea give the door a couple good KNOCKS on the outside around the handle are, that always frees up the lock for me.

Can you open the door from the inside? If you can, remove the panel, and replace the latch. If not, you might have to do like me and tear off the panel...reach inside and manually force the door to unlock that way.

Yeah, my door will not open from the inside or out, I guess I'll try not to destroy the panel too bad

The door will not open. If I try to unlock the door with the power door lock switch, the lock will try to unlock and make a clicking sound but then return to the locked position. The same thing happens when I try from the outside with the key. I can manually move the lock lever to the unlocked position, but it doesn't unlock the door.

Ok then take my advice and do this:

Go outside and put the key in, turn it to the right until you feel opposition, take it out and make a fist, with the bottom of your fist give the door a couple good KNOCKS on and around the door handle area, and try to unlock. If this doesnt work then try again. It took me a couple times to figure out on my car, but you want to hit the part of the door between the handle and back door if that makes any cents.

I don't know how they did it, but the infiniti dealer got mine open and didn't even charge me an arm and a leg. Just an arm. Good thing it's an automatic.

I am having the same problem with my 97 j30. i cant lock the door or it wont open back up and now i have to knock on the door just to get it to latch every other time i close the door. Does anyone know what i need to do to fix it? I had to disconnect the automatic door lock because to was makeing the locks go crazy too.

PS- Is WD-40 going to help this symptom, or will I need to replace a part?

One of ya'll said the door unlocks then re locks by itself.Me thinx thats the Timer gremlin.Mine does it maybe once in every 20 openings.
